Jan 27, 2008 - 4 night Wonder...shall I start?

Hey all, just touching base (and moving our thread up the board a little!). Seven weeks to go before our new shipmate arrives and I can start the tedious task of applying for his b/c and passport! Hopefully it will arrive in time!!

After many discussions with the "grand" family (as Connor refers to us all), we've decided to suck it up and stick with the plan for the cruise in January. Weather be darned! We're now trying to plan excursions. Thinking we are just going to do Atlantis on our own, and maybe not even the aquarium, just tour the public areas and take some pictures, then head back to the ship for lunch. Maybe after lunch venture out and catch a cab to Ardastra Gardens, but most likely just stay on the ship. I think now everyone is worried we aren't going to have enough time just to enjoy the ship!!

I just bought us all matching t-shirts for embarkation too...disneyshopping had a good sale and dh was in NYC last week, so I had it shipped to a friend down there. We'll be the "grand" family of 6 adults, 1 child and a baby in Navy T-shirts with the characters in the Mickey head logo on the front. Not sure how I'll add to the back yet, but I'm working on it. Our door decorations will match the saying on the back...

1 st Disney Cruise (Caeden's 1st trip) +
2 Islands +
3 Cabins +
4 Generations +
5 th birthday celebration for Connor

= One priceless "grand" family vacation!!

Getting excited about the cruise, but the "nesting" instinct is starting to take over, so I'm sure I'll be preoccupied with setting up the baby's room, washing baby clothes, cleaning house etc. for the next few weeks.

Chat soon!

Hey I have a Caeden too but he is a Kaden:thumbsup2

Just found your threads.

We are in the process of booking on this cruise as well. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise. We will let you know when we have confirmed for sure but it seems likely that we will choose the 27th.

Hey all. Well, bad news. We have had to cancel from this trip. With the new baby, finances have gotten a little tighter than I'm comfortable with, and my parents are having a tough go this year financially too, so we've decided to do it another time. We did have 2 of the secret porthole cabins booked, so if anyone is interested, they should be back in inventory on Monday or Tuesday.

We're still going to go to Disney in April for a few days, just to get our Disney fix, but I'm still sad:sad1: . Enjoy the cruise and have a few drinks on Castaway Cay for me!!!:woohoo:

Pleased to meet you and your family Gordon.

I am Robin and my husband is Rick. We are travelling with another couple, Cliff and Val.

This will be our 9th Disney Cruise (our 14th cruise total) and the very first cruise for the couple coming with us.

Nice to meet you Robin & Rick, you are seasoned cruisers there is no doubt about that. This will be our 3rd on DCL but the first time on Wonder. Our 8th cruise overall. We were on our last one in Jan., a 7 day western and we just couldn't stay away any longer!

How many is that of us from this thread? Seems like a few more Canadians. We were on the Dis Meets Cruise Call for our last trip, almost a year before we sailed, and got to know a lot of people on DIS. The build up and chatting before the cruise was 50% of the fun for us! It provided us with lots of useful info and fun leading up to the cruise.

Looking forward to counting down sleeps again!

Hi Cruising Cannack-

My daughters will be 11 (Katie) & 7 (Edie) when we go on the cruise in January. Maybe we can have the girls email each other so they'll have buds to hook up with.

Of all of our Disney Cruises we have only been on the Magic one time.

It was a special repositioning 4 day cruise.

We have never done a 7 day Disney Cruise:guilty:

Hi Binks

I'm sure Carly and Vanessa would love to hear from your girls they chatted a few times with a couple girls before our last cruise. Our e-mail address is l.g.knox@sasktel.net

But the only thing is, is that we are not telling the kids until christmas at the earliest, so they will have to wait at least until then. Or we will let you know if it slips out any sooner!

 to everyone

For my fellow Canadian cruisers. Have you paid the balance on your cruise with the exchange rate being what it is :confused3

I know that we did :thumbsup2

My family will be on this cruise! Myself (Jennifer), DH (Art), DS (Bradley 4) and DD (Samantha 1). I have cruised twice before on other lines, life before children, this will be DH, DS and DD 1st Cruise! I'm so excited to see their faces!

We have late seating (8pm) for dinner.

Look forward to meeting everyone! I'm bidding on a Fish Extender for outside our cabin door on eBay right now after I found out about them on this board, wow the things you learn, lol :)

Also to the Canadian Travelers. My mom is from London Ontartio :)

Jennifer in MI

welcome Jennifer & Art and kids, wonderful to hear your getting away from it all in late January as well.

I have one ? for you what on earth is a Fish extender. I have put magnetic signs on our door but I haven't heard of a fish extender.

Oh, by the way, I will give everyone our cabin #'s so you can come by and say Hi! 2053 and 2085

I have never heard of a fish extender and I have cruised an awful lot of times:confused3

Hey Jennifer, I live in Chatham, Ontario. Just one hour away from London:thumbsup2
