Wednesday we docked (Yeah!) at CC. Very cloudy and I thought it would be the worst weather day of all, but the sun broke through about the time we found chairs. I had scheduled my DH and 3 DS's for the Banana boat ride at 10:30 and 3:05. They loved it and the second one turned out to be better (wetter and bumpier), so I am glad I did that! My DH and I went back to the ship around 2:30 and were able to go up on deck 9 to video the guys on the banana boat. On CC, we sat near the wooden playset in the family beach area. Nice. Near bathroom, drink vendor and lunch pavilion.
I had rented two floats for my DD and I. Never used them; too chilly for me and she wouldn't use without me
. Got two getaway packages that included two MORE floats
snorkels (two of my DS's used them like I thought), two bike rentals (two of my DS's used them). My advice--there are plenty! I don't know what it's like in the busy season, but I certainly didn't need to prearrange this. Wait to see what the water temp. is and what your family feels like doing, unless you know. The two packages would have been plenty. The Banana Boat rides were great, but so was the weather. Lunch was very good (I took the bread off the lobster burger and the chicken burger which were wonderful). Icecream and frozen yogurt and lots of fresh fruit available. Those wonderful chocolate chip cookies.
Oh yeah, we never did room service. I just wanted my kids to try the pb and j that we heard about, but oh well.
Another wonderful sail away party! but we may have missed it, I can't remember. Went to Disney Dreams and thought it was great. There were many times that my throat got a lump from the Disney excitement (like the welcome coming on board). Dinner at Parrot Cay again. No music and less children (probably everyone at Palo's). We loved out waiters. Dinner very good; equivalent to the night before (not as spectacular as the first two).
Packed during the day at different times and finished after dinner; with 6 people, that's a trick or trip, depending. Shopped.
Paid off tab the night before this, actually, at Guest Services. One last time at Shutters. Not too many pictures of our family since we have older children who didn't pose with the characters. But they did take some nice pictures on CC of us.
The following a.m. we got coffee on Deck 9 before our sit down breakfast. It was so nice. It felt like a longer trip than it was, but because we did so much--morning to night. I mean, 4 days was a good amount of time. 3 would have been too short. 7, maybe a little too much indulgence! (Still worth a try if you can afford it). The weather cooperated and the staff kept telling us how lucky we were because the cruise before us couldn't dock at CC.
So we definitely feel like the pixie dust was sprinkled on us!
