I thought January was rather a slow time of year, but I am waitlisted for Thurs 1/25. Anything special going on at WDW that I am not aware of?

Did you just now book your DVC ressie? January is low points, so many folks like to take advantage of that fact and book trips then.

I see two other "happenings" that may have had folks booking DVC accomodations -- there is a big Lotusphere convention that runs until the 25th and there is also the Walt Disney World Soccer Classic Jan 25-28. January is also a time when other smaller groups also book conventions/conferences in Orlando -- for the lower prices.

Cinderella's suite will begin to be given away that day...... If I get Cindy's suite, you have first dibs on my 1 bedroom Boardwalk view for that night!

There is a big press conference on the 26th, so a lot of media will be there. The MK closes early on the 25th for media previews of the Cinderella suite and Laugh Club. That probably took up quite a few rooms, but shouldn't be DVC rooms.

It's our 8th anniversary of our Disney Wedding-that must be it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The annual PGA Golf Show is in Orlando January 25-27. Many of the people stay at Disney, and in the past there were awesome discounts on Disney tickets from what I have been told by my friends who go every year.

Thanks to everyone that responded. I tried to book back in November and have been waitlisted since then. I was able to get Fri/Sat the 26th and 27th, but still holding out for Thurs 1/25. I have made back-up ressies at All Stars, just in case the waitlist does not come through.
