Jan. 23 Annual Passholder Cruise

My work & Fed Ex delivery schedules don't jive - I hate it when my job gets in the way of my fun but I made alternate arrangements & my documents are arriving Monday- at least one set is .

See you all soon.....
Bari
A bad day cruising (no such thing) is better than a good day at work.

The Fed Ex man just left, he always thought I was crazy but now he knows for sure. The funny thing is that I'm also cruising on 1/19 and I still haven't gotten my docs for that cruise. I wonder why my docs for the second came before the first. I leave for WDW 1 month from today.
Bari

That's <I>strange</I>, Bari. Let us know when your 1/19 docs arrive, too. Obviously DCL does not do things in cruise order!

Do we still have any LURKERS who are on the 1/23 AP cruise? We are waiting to hear from you!

Still no docs for the 1/19th cruise. I'm going to give Fed Ex one more day then Email DU to make sure the docs are on the way. My family is also waiting - they too got the 23rd's before the 19th.

Bari
taswira- I'm practicing for the cruise & now have dishpan hands 24/7.

Well, Bari - My DH is already having me drink a glass of wine with dinner each night (here at home - which I do not usually do!), bought LOTS of Purell for me, a big can of Lysol spray and wipes, and keeps calling me downstairs repeatedly (my home office is upstairs) so I can practice for using the stairs on the ship instead of being in close quarters with potentially infected people on an elevator. He is also telling me to carry LOTS of mineral water. :jester:

Did you read the article about "What You Need To Know About Norwalk" that is linked from another thread? Geeesh - - I just DON'T think I can SURVIVE without using ICE!!!!!

This will, at the very least, be a VERY different and memorable cruise! Reminder to all: <B><I>"The only difference between an ordeal and an adventure is ATTITUDE!"</I></B> :smooth:

I am contemplating getting my hair cut to just below shoulder-length. This morning I realized that it only lacks a few inches from being down to my waist, and that is <I>way</I> too long for me at <I>my</I> age! :(

I went to the health dept. this afternoon for my flu shot, and was <I>pleasantly</I> surprised to see a beanie of my favorite, Chip (of Chip & Dale), sitting atop the receptionist's monitor. When I told her how many Disney cruises I'd done this year and how many photos I have of me with Chip, she wanted to hear all about it. My non-Disney DH was with me and stared blankly as he asked, "<I>WHO is Chip?</I>"

Ah . . just trying to keep this thread afloat for any lurkers. :p

Taswira,
I PM'd you to add me (Joy), DH (Kevin) and DD (Sydney) who will be turning 5 two weeks after the cruise. I'm excited to see Organicb has a niece in the same age group! We are in one of the 7000 series cabins, can't recall right now which one. MAIN Dining and we are passholders. We arrive late on 1/22 and are staying at the airport Hyatt that night. After the cruise we go to the WL for a week.

I haven't been around much lately -- because I just got back from WDW - DISCON! I travelled with hand sanitizer -- bottled water -- you name it, because all of us frequent travelers know the PLANE is where you will catch something!

Looking forward to meeting some fellow DIS'ers on this cruise.

Welcome to the list, Joy! I read your PM first and added your info, then read this thread where I saw the other names and that you are passholders, so I went back and added that. :p

So you are somewhere on Deck 7? That is my <I>favorite</I> deck!

Yes - I am not worried about catching anything <I>from the ship</I>, but <I>from the passengers</I>. Not worried much though. I'll take all the <I>extreme</I> precautions my DH insists upon (he won't be with me), so the cruise will be a bit different for me than usual. But it will still be a WONDERful cruise and I plan to have a GREAT time!

Shari

Hi Joy and welcome to the cruise.
Shari- I owe you an Email but I've been sooooo busy, I'll try to write tomorrow if I don't have to work.
Bari

BTW -- We got our cruise documents the day we got back from WDW -- which was a great early Christmas present!

I called today to ask about the schedule for the passholder events -- and they don't have a firm one yet and may not finalize until we embark on our adventure! So I went ahead and booked the Blue Lagoon Dolphin swim for DD and I. DH is not a water fan and will come along and shoot the video. Hopefully this won't conflict with anything they have planned for passholders.

I think we will hang out on the beach, maybe try our hand at snorkelling on Castaway Cay.

Please, if you're going to get it cut, consider donating it. I've let mine grow out twice now (has to be at least 10-12 inches) before having it cut & donated to Locks of Love . They use it to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to medical treatments and conditions.
As a bonus, most salons will cut & style your hair for free (or a reduced rate) if you donate it.

Well, although my hair does not get cut for free, I DO donate it and my hairdresser takes care of that. I've been doing that for about the last five years. Right now my hair is a few inches longer than shoulder length <I>on the side</I>, but the very back is VERY long - not too far from my waist and is currently pretty much one length instead of layered. It is also quite thick. So what they take from the back should make a nice head of hair for someone! I actually <I>like</I> having really long hair, but I am a bit old for it, plus I find myself always putting it in a ponytail. I won't get it cut <I>too</I> short this time, but there will be plenty to donate!

I hope everyone had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! :) I still have not received my docs yet, but DCL has been known to send them 2 weeks prior on occasion! If they don't arrive soon, I'll have to call and have them sent to my alternate (Florida) address.

Here's wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Our cruise is coming up SOON! :teeth:

Looks like its my turn to bump!

Anyone else getting excited? I just looked at the sample Navigator's posted on the castaway club site and that has really got me going!

Counting the days,

Time: <B>3 p.m. Thursday</B>, embarkation day.
Place: <I><B>Promenade Lounge, Deck 3</B></I>

organicb and I plan to be there - Anyone else? <I>Promenade Lounge</I> has comfortable seating, no wind (being inside) and is easy to find (From the port side of the Lobby Atrium, walk down the corridor. The lounge is on the left, just past <I>Triton's</I>).

I realize there may be schedule conflicts, but this is after most have done the ressie rush and an hour before the drill. We hope to see you there!

Shari

Hey everyone.
It's been a while since I've posted. The holidays were crazy:crazy: We had family staying with us, so there were 10 all together in the house. Friday after Christmas we drove to orlando to see the Champions on ice skating show. Then on Saturday we had a wedding and on Sunday we left for HH for a few days of R and R. (Which were much needed). We stayed through new years up there and came home on the 2nd. This weekend we took down all of our chirstmas decorations:( . But now I can focus on the cruise.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I can't believe it's almost here. I hope the weather is good. It has been very cold in Florida the past two weeks. We have had ice on our cars every morning.:(

Anyway, I think that I will be at the promenade lounge to meet up with you guys. At least I will do my best to be there.

Dena:earsgirl:

We hope to see you there, Dena! :teeth: Is anyone else (at least tentatively) planning to join us for our little DIS Meet? It should be a comfortable environment, and the bar at <I>Promenade Lounge</I> is usually open then, too . . in case you get thirsty. :jester:

FYI: I upgraded to Cat. 6 and am now in 6584. Is anyone else nearby?

Shari

I hope to meet up with you guys there too!

Although, I haven't gotten any of my documents yet. I don't even know what cabin we will be in. Is this customary? Do you think they forgot about us? I hope not..... I really need a vacation.

2XHoney - Did you book through a TA or directly with DCL? If it was through a TA, you might want to call to check the status. If it was through DCL directly, there is really no need to worry until 2 weeks prior. Out of 5 Disney cruises, I got my docs for two of them just 2 weeks ahead.

This time, I originally booked a Cat. 11 GTY (none of my favorite Navigator Verandahs were available). I checked my ressie daily on their site. On 30 Dec. they assigned me a Cat. 9 room that I considered extremely undesirable (the particular room location), so I upgraded to Cat. 6, Deck 6, mid-ship.
