Is anyone else on the Annual Passholder Cruise on the Wonder, January 23, 2003?

taswira,

We became pass holders in October, We haven't received any correspondence yet from Disney in Reference to Passholder benefits. So when did they announce this cruise. Any info would be great.

Thanks
kennyk

Is it an AP cruise or a DVC member cruise?

Jan. 23rd is the AP cruise. The DVC member cruise is Feb. 2-6th.

Thanks wdwlvr....Did they offer special rates for passholders? What another nice benefit of the AP if they did.

Everyone have fun!:D

Issued from DCL:

"<I>On January 23, 2003, you can join some of your fellow Passholders on a magical 3-night voyage to The Bahamas, including a stop at Disney's own private island paradise, Castaway Cay, starting at just $369* per adult and $199* per child. (Rates valid for 3-night cruise commencing 1/23/03, in stateroom categories 11-12 aboard ship. Adult rates are based on adult double occupancy; children's rates valid for children 3-12 traveling with 2 adults in the same stateroom. Other discounts do not apply. Must show proof of active WDW Annual Passholder status at time of sailing.)

While on this special cruise, you'll receive a limited-edition lithograph (one per stateroom) designed by Character Artist Don "Ducky" Williams, who will be on board conducting a special group session. You'll also receive an exclusive Passholder gift and enjoy many pin trading opportunities while on the ship as well!</I>"

The booking code for WDW Passholders on this cruise is "APC."

I believe the lowest categories are sold out, but a few days ago they were still selling Cat. 11 as GTY (meaning possible upgrade at the port maybe?). Should be fun!

We will be sailing on the APC. We booked as soon as I heard about it. We only booked a cat. 11 room and about 6 weeks ago we got a call from DCL telling us we have been upgraded to a cat.8. We just sailed on the magic for Halloween week, and I don't know if I can go back to a 3 day cruise.:) YEA RIGHT! I will take and disney cruise I can get!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My sentiments exactly! I <I>really</I> had NOT planned on doing the APC originally. I did four Wonder cruises this year, including two in the last month, so I was going to TRY to "cool it" for awhile. Yeah, sure! Since I needed to be back in central FL for photography work for two weeks in January, and it just <I>happened</I> to coincide with the APC, I just couldn't resist! Besides, it's a long time until Cruisetoberfest II!

I, too, only booked a Cat. 11 this time - my first time without a verandah :( . But I'm going solo and will survive the 3 days. ;) I have not been assigned a room yet, but whatever I end up with will suffice for this unplanned, impulsive <B>5th</B> DCL cruise within about 12 months! I am SO hooked on the Wonder!

Just paid the final payment! We booked a category 10 because I wanted to be guaranteed a higher deck (mildly claustrophobic) but couldn't handle the price of the outside cabins (but I'd sure take an upgrade if they offered it!)

This is our 1st DCL cruise and DD's (5) first cruise. Really looking forward to it -- we should do a DIS meet!

<B>joyful1nh:</B> I hope you were assigned a specific stateroom that begins with the numbers 5 or 7. The MAJORITY of Cat. 10 are on Deck 2 (second <I>lowest</I> deck), with a smaller number located on Deck 1, 5 and 7. Cat. 11 are mostly on Deck 6, with some more on Deck 5 and 7. So you would not have had to worry about being too low on the ship. In any case, you get a split bath in Cat. 10. That's a real asset when there is more than one person in a stateroom. Half my cruises have been solo, and even then I've enjoyed the split bath (and a verandah!) but am trying to economize for this "unplanned" extra cruise. ;)

I'm all for a "DIS meet" myself. I'm not too good at planning any activity for a meet (our Halloween Wonder photo shoot fell through due to everyone's schedule conflicts), but if anyone wants me to do a web page to keep track of DISers on our cruise, I can easily do that. The Halloween one was <B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/travel/DISlist.html" target="index">HERE</A></B>. If not, <I>hakuna matata</I>. This is still going to be a WONDERful cruise and I'm glad to see some DISers on it!

what a beautiful picture!!....did you always have that picture in your signature?...i don't remember seeing it before..

anyway...i'd LOVE to go on the passholder cruise...unfortunately getting to the states for the cruise is prohibitive...besides which the kids can't get out of school/army....

we'll just have to wait for the wonder/magic to sail our way in 2004.....

If you are referring to <I>my</I> sig, thank you. And no, I recently switched pics. That one was on the Nov. 10-14 Wonder and is me with Cruise Director Rick (as seen <I>rarely</I> out of uniform) at the <I>Castaway Club</I> reception.

So sorry you can't join the passholder cruise. If a DCL ship doesn't sail your way in the near future, perhaps you'll be able to make it to states at another time. Don't lose hope!

Shari

yes, i did mean your signature....:D
as for Rick, i didn't recognize him in clothes....civilian clothes that is...:)

Sort of a shock, isn't it? That's the main reason I posted that particular pic . . to see how many would recognize him. :p But if you put your mouse cursor over the picture, it should read "<I>Shari with Cruise Director Rick on the Wonder</I>."

i just did the mouse on the picture thing and it certainly does say that...
so why wasn't he wearing his sailor suit?

Because we were both <I>sans spouse</I> and he was my date for the evening . . . . NO-O-O-O . . . Just KIDDING! :jester:

On the 4-day Wonder, he hosts WWTBAM in "civilian" attire, which they decided is more appropriate than DCL uniform for such activity. Since he would not have time to change, he came to the CC reception in his suit.

Sorry. . . . Who Wants to Be A Mouseketeer. Ooops!

*laughing*
i wasn't even close to that...
i kept trying to figure out what it ocould be..
thanks for the translation...

Hey everyone - I decided to do a web page for the Annual Passholder Cruise anyway, just like I did for the Halloween Wonder. It includes info on the benefits for annual passholders on the cruise. If anyone wants to be on the list, please PM me with whatever info you want on the page - at least DIS name, optional first name, dinner seating, number and ages of family members, where staying the night before - anything you want on there. It's a great way for those with kids to find kids of similar age without having to weed through a thread. You can bookmark the page and it includes a link back to the thread. Since I don't want to add anyone without their permission, so far I am the only one on the list. So let me know if you want to be added!

Is anyone else with us? The list is <B><a href="http://www.primateprojections.com/travel/APCDIS.html" target="index">HERE</A></B>.
