We are booking the 7 days cruise on the Magic on January 22, 2005. Anyone else?

We have 2 children who will be 9 (Emily) and 6 1/2 (Robert) at the time.

Mcazer,

Welcome to the Jan 22nd Eastern! We have a post going on the cruise meet board. Our party includes DH, DS7 (will be almost 8 at time of cruise) and myself.

We were on the Eastern once before, and choose that route again due to the extra day at sea. I am axiously awaiting a big milestone in our countdown. . . . .getting under the 300 day mark.

We are currently looking at flight options from MN. We are planning to fly in the night before, as we have done for our other trips. This time we may stay at the airport Hyatt but might also try the Radison at the port. We don't want to pull DS from shcool early that day, so we will probably get in late that night.

Hey, did we loose another thread? I thought piperg started one and now I can't find it. Maybe we got edited. Hope we didn't lose anyone. Are we all here?

HI, we are booked on the Jan. 22 cruise. I'm so excited!! This will be our first cruise. Our DD will be 4 and DS will be 23 months when we go. Two other families will be joining us with a 4 yo dd, 2 yo DS and a 2 yo DD. We are all military families and were stationed together in Little ROck several years ago. 6 years ago (before anyone had kids) we took a trip to DISNEYWORLD together and had the best vacation EVER. This is our reunion trip.....with kids! We look forward to meeting new friends on our trip!!

There have to be more of us~

Let the posting begin. Its my next bid trip... and it seems so far away.

Now, when should I start my diet, so I can fit into my nice formal wear? LOL

Anyone try TRIM SPA, it seems to have done wonders for Anna Nicole!

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that my fiance, Laurie, and I are slated for cruising with you on 1/22.

It is going to be great, I just know it!! This will the first cruise for both of us, and I hope Laurie gets excited about being out to sea. I was in the Navy for a while, and she was in the Army, so I need to prove who has the better life (just don't tell her a cruise ship isn't like a Navy ship :p ). I am really looking forward to the sound of the waves and the gentle rocking of the boat (and will have mechlazine for any hard rockin' :D ).

The cruise is to celebrate our Honeymoon and as a bonus, my birthday will be on the 27th (that Thurs). I am hoping to get Palo reservations for that evening (using REAS). Nice timing, huh? it was an accident, I swear! :smooth:

Anyway, I just started trolling the DIS boards a few weeks ago, and love all the info.

Have a fun evening! - Chris

Now, we're getting ready to go. The countdown clock just keeps ticking. I will be on board with DH and DD (will be 12 at the time). This is our second cruise - first was the Western in January. Chris, congrats on the wedding, what a great honeymoon. BTW, Mcazar, I'm down 15 pounds on South Beach - on the maintainence phase now. Can't wait to meet everyone when we sail. We will also be flying in the night before but haven't decided where to stay. We stayed a AKL last year, but would like to stay at the port. I was hoping to get in early enough to go to NASA, it's a great trip, but it doesn't seem like that is going to work out this year. Still looking at transportation and shore excusions. So many decisions

How soon can we book the REAS? My TA called Disney when we booked a few weeks ago, and Disney told her we couldn't book that package yet. With the REAS, can we book Spa stuff early or wait until on the ship?

Oh, we will be in one of the partial balconies (7620 I think).

Wow, it is so great to see everyone joining this thread.

We are still making some of our plans. We booked out plane tickets a month or so ago, and DH has already booked Happy Limo (a little treat this time). However, we are also flying in on Friday and have not booked a room yet. We like to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn at MCO. I travel from time-to-time, and was just short on the necessary points. This week I was in Baltimore and stayed at a Hilton. So, as soon as they post the points to my account, I can secure our hotel.

We are keeping this cruise a secret from DS 7. I can't wait to pick him up from school that Friday and start driving to the airport. Of course, DH and I have to be really careful about everything. We talk about the trip quite a bit, but I think we need to be a bit more cautious before he picks up on something.

That countdown clock is ticking away :hyper:

o.k. everyone, I am bumping this thread back up to the top! I see the Western sailing on Jan 29th has 4 pages of posts. Do we have the ship to ourselves? I guess we should all be expecting fabulous upgrades. LOL

Join our thread if you are a Jan 22, 2005 Eastern cruiser:sunny:

We are also going on the 22nd and are very excited. We went last Jan. on the western and rebooked while onboard. There are 9 of us going - myself, DH, DS 14, DD 13, DS 10, DD 8, my mom, my best friend and her mom. We are planning on flying in on Friday and are thinking of staying at the Radison. Though we have not made any reservations yet. Now all the research begins to plan the excursions!

Patti, give us the dirt on what the weather was like last year :sunny:

What room is everyone in and why did you pick it?

We are staying in 7620, one of the partial verandah rooms.

Mickeyfan4444 - welcome. We were on the Westren in Jan. also. My DD will be 12 when we sail. We will be flying down on Friday and are looking at the Radisson also.

PiperG - Waiting for the upgrade. I don't know how you can keep the secret. I have to tell everyone I know.

Graysword - We'll be in 8086 (unless we get the upgrade because the ship is empty):D The weather in Jan was cool in FL. The ports were great. We did get a soaking in Key West. CC was too cold for us to get in the water. It is pretty easy to schedule your CC activities at the last minute, so I think we will wait to see if the weather cooperates for snorkling, etc. It is cool in the evenings, light jacket weather.

And we're off. :grouphug:

Roll call for boys!

DS will be 7 (8 in March) when we cruise. Just curious if any of you have young boys traveling with you.

We are staying in a Cat 6 (love a balcony!).

My daughter will have just turned 9 (Jan 16) and my son will be an almost 7 year old. But could easily fit in with the older boys because he is as tall as my daughter.

I on the other hand will have just turned 41... yikes!

Funny thing... at the food store, I ran in to get a few items, the total came up to $19.82, and I told the check out girl, gee that is the year I graduated, and she looked at me like I was nuts.

Upon getting in my car, I thought to myself....

You know, she probably wasn't even born yet.. UGH! LOL

1982 was a very good year for graduation :p I'll be 4-0 by the time we sail. You are only as old as you feel. When I grow up I want to work at the phone reservation center for DCL. ::MickeyMo I went to a record (CDs for you younger folks) store and asked for a Peter, Paul and Mary CD. The teeny bopper said "Peter, Paul and who?" Needless to say, I didn't get the CD, but I have still on album. My DD recently figured out that Jim Morrison was no longer living. She was very disappointed. Age makes us wiser, but the mouse makes us all feel like kids again. :cool1:
