Jan 2010 Code Watch

Does anyone know if the individual room rates on the Disney website include tax? I was checking out Poly without any tickets or meal plan (trying to figure out what possible deal could be best) and it said the room rate was $365/night. TIA!

More rumor from Len Testa at the UG:

"Details are still being worked out, but we’ve heard from multiple, usually-reliable sources that Disney’s Buy-4-Get-7 deal will return next week. The announcement may be made as early as Monday, but could be as late as Thursday. Value resorts will have a slightly different “Buy-5-Get-2″ deal. Travel dates, we hear, could be October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Book by December 20, 2009 (we think that’ll be extended). And you must purchase Magic Your Way tickets to match the number of nights of your stay.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, in particular the announcement dates. "

I'm wondering how the tickets = nights part will work. If the 4/3 works the same as last year, we were planning on 10 day non-expiry tickets, to use for a short Flower & Garden or Christmas trip later. I wonder if this means they won't be allowing that this time, or if it is just that they're ending the option of getting 1 day tix like passholders sometimes do to take advantage of Disney's better offers.

This would be terrific! I hope this rumor turns out to be true!!:woohoo:

That rate is w/o 12.5% tax.:scared1:

Is it just me? I don't think this deal is great at all. At a value resort that saves my family of four, what - about $200? Free dining would save us over $750 - and that's the quick service plan!

It is all in where you stay. For us, 4/3 is a MUCH, MUCH better deal, because 3 free nights at the Poly adds up to mucho dinero. Even free dining with one of my kids counting as an adult isn't as good a discount. But at the values, free dining is the best Disney has to offer; the per night discount can be as much as or even more than the room rate!

I am tuning in to see if the rumor comes to pass:happytv:

I guess I know what I will be doing all weekend...
refresh,refresh,refresh,refresh,refresh,refresh... HA!
:rotfl2:
I sure hope it is a great deal!

If we actually follow through and reserve, is my total then including tax?

TIA~!

Yep - when you make your reservation, your total will be everything. You'll get an e-mail confirmation and I think it's broken down on there.

I was reading through the comments on touringplans regarding the buy 4 get 7, and it said thay this promo may include a discount on tickets too...how would that work? Would it be like buy a 4 day parkhopper pass, get 3 parkhoppers for free?

I was also wondering about the tickets. how did it work last year on buy 4 get 3. did you buy 4 day passes and get 3 free or did you have to buy 7 day passes, or however many days you wanted?

What about the room only codes??????????

Not fair.
Last year room only codes came out after the 4/3 deal. I don't remember when.

Last year you paid for a 4 day pass and got the extra 3 days free. That is only worth about $10. Parkhopper is a flat rate no matter how many days on the pass so you don't save anything there.

Some folks did get non expire and save more on the difference between a 4 day and 7 day non expire. I did not do that so not sure on the details of that.

I was curious about the lack of room type (water view ) also. Please share what you hear.

I heard back from Lisa saying she doesn't know why the room type isn't shown on the confirmations. She confirmed the room type but said I could call 407-W-DISNEY to check.

So, I've just made a transatlantic phone call that probably cost me the price of several Dole Whips!

After several minutes of Disney music, I got through to Reservations. The lady there first of all said she couldn't access my reservation because it was a group booking. I politely mentioned that I can access it myself online through the WDW website but it doesn't show the room type. She did then appear to access it but said she had to put me through to Conventions. Several more minutes of music, then a lady in Conventions. I explained again that I simply wanted to check the room type because it's not on the confirmation. So she also put me on hold. More music. Then she came back and asked what room type I'd requested, I told her, she said "That's what you've got".

To be honest, I can't help but thinking that whatever room type I'd told her, she would have said the same thing. I'd be happier if she had told me, rather than simply confirming what I told her. If you see what I mean!

So when is this most likely going to be announced??? IM SO EXCITED!! Hahaha.

tigger137,

Thanks for following up with the info.

I guess that I could have called and saved you the $$$. I'll check with them as the time draws nearer.

I read on the "rumors" thread that it will be released Monday to Disney Visa cardholders and to the general public on Wednesday.

Just got a Disney Visa card, how do you find out about a special released to disney visa holders? :confused3
Thanks!!

You can go to the Disney Visa website and click on the "Special Offers" button. As a cardholder, you should also get an e-mail from Chase when the new special offer comes out. I can hardly wait! :cool1:
