Jan 2010 Code Watch

I am signing in to watch for a friend of mine wanting to go end of January. I would love to get her a great deal! :)

I'm going to keep my fingers AND toes crossed for a deal in Jan! We're local, but we've been planning to spend 1/13-1/18 on property (more magic!) at POFQ for my birthday. I would be happy to celebrate a month early and go in December when the free dining offer is valid (and save a thousand bucks!) but neither of us can get the time off then. I'll do backflips of joy if they extend the FD offer into Jan, but since they already extended it so much this year I'm kind of doubting it. :guilty:

Only time will tell...

Add me to the "patiently" waiting list.
We will be there marathon weekend and currently have a room reserved at CSR but no deal will mean I will stay off site at the Hilton on reward points..

However, I would love the beach club and just emailed List @ magical travel vacations so hopefully I can get something there.....

So, I have been wanting to see what kind of deals a travel agent could get me, so I went to Dreams - the price they gave me as of now, is the same as Disney will give me...(not a bad price at all) So it will hold my place at Disney, and all that jazz...and I could get a better deal from them if one comes along. But is planning with a travel agent a good thing or a bad thing? Are they help full? I was just wondering if you all had anything you could tell me about all that?

Good luck with getting a great rate. I got a great rate from her for the Poly. Let us know how you make out.

Add us to the list looking for a January Deal. DH wants to go down for a few days. I am thinkin Deluxe this trip if we can get a good discount. When do AP codes for Jan usually come out?

We are planning on going down for a long weekend at the end of January for my DH's birthday. Come on discounts!!:cool1:

I went in May and booked through Liberty Travel. The woman I worked with was actually quite knowledgeable about Disney and had many helpful suggestions. I think the price was probably the same as if I had just done it myself (we booked flight, hotel, tickets, and the dining plan together during the 4/3 deal), but it was nice that they organized everything and I could pay off the balance to just them, instead of booking things separately.

I think it definitely makes a different who you're working with. Some travel agents really have no idea and have VERY inaccurate information about WDW, which will probably hurt you more than help to be honest. In my experience, it was great though. Good Luck!!:thumbsup2

The great thing about TAs (at least the ones that are Disney specialists like Dreams Unlimited) is that they monitor what kind of deals are coming out. I think they might actually get official notice from Disney if they release a new offer. So the TA will be able to book that deal for you as soon as it comes out and therefore reduce your price. So you don't have to worry about a code coming out and being able to phone that morning. I really like that aspect. I am using a TA for every trip and am very happy with that. Even though I think I might do my own ADRs this time since I really like the online ADRs.

I just heard back from Lisa from Magic Vacations.. Awesome deal for 2 rooms at the Beach Club Water view for $212 a night each...

Sherry- just wondering- you mentioned you got a great rate for the Poly? What was the rate and for what dates? I just booked flights but have been waiting to book hotel (we're heading out Jan 22-29)

I just got off of the phone with Lisa from Magical. We confirmed my room only reservation for a water view at the Beach Club for Jan. 12-16th at $212.63. That's 55% off of rack rate. Unbelieveable.:thumbsup2

We leave for Pop tomorrow at 0430 for a 7 day trip booked last April w/Beth @DU. EVERYTHING has been painless and flawless to this point and we have very impressed with their service. Based on our experience, you did the right thing.
