Thanks this gives me hope, i've blindly got a "HOLD the room" ressie in for Jan 19-26, 2010 at POP. In hopes of something anything, and did a Hold just because i'm afraid if i don't when and if a "Deal" comes out they will book up fast.... *crossed fingers*

I did a room only ressie too and I won't be booking a package in August when the rates come out for 2010. We'll have to wait until October/November and see if anything good is released before we make it a package. We've already decided if no discount/deal is released our trip will have to be pushed back to Jan 2011

Yes, same with us...good for us that it's a no real problem, they'll let us cancel and refund us the desposit....WEE us Planners, we really are something.

Well it's officially July so at least we can say the 2010 rates will be out NEXT month...and only 3-4 more months until those deals are out!

Well, I guess I'm jumping in here! I haven't been reading or posting here since coming back from our trip last Nov, I'm not sure exactly why, but I'm back now! We've been going in Nov, as least the last three years, but now DD19 can't go until Xmas break, no missing school anymore in college! No other time to go really, summer is way too hot! So, January it is and I'm glad to have found this Jan code watch thread! We want to go Jan 2nd to the 10th and stay at our usual CBR!

So, I've got some questions, hopefully that's okay! Last time we went Jan 1st to the 10th, 2005(right at the time of that awful Tsunami), the weather was really nice, but I think it was an unexpected warm spell. That year in Jan the crowds were really low and it was value time, it was great. We are used to relatively low crowds when we go in Nov, too, so hope that is still the same. Is it still generally low crowds just after new years? And, anyone know how the weather usually is? Boy, the last couple Novs were really cold, like wear your coat and still shiver cold, especially at night last year, wow! And, this will be right after Xmas, so the decorations should still be up, right? And the Osbourn lights at DHS for at least a few days? The last few years in Nov we did the MVMCP which is awesome and we'll really miss that this time for sure! Do they still have the Xmas parade a few days after new years or not? As I remember they had the decorations and lights and parade for a few days, but I could be wrong. We were able to also see Osbourn lights in Nov until last year. I know this is a lot but hope someone can help with some answers! And, here's a few more!

YIKES...6 months to wait! That's a long time! Hoping for free dining, but the 4/3 would be great, too! That was a awesome deal last Jan (along with the $200 GC). Free dining would be better for us, especially because I REALLY want to do 8 nights this trip!! 6 was not NEARLY long enough.

If they were to have the 4/3 deal in Jan, could I add one more night? We want to stay 8 nights, usually do 9 - 10, but not enough time. But, with the deal, is it very strict on only 7 total nights or do they let you add? I would think so, they always want my money, but you never know.
Also, for two at CBR, is it better for FD or this kind of deaL? We had FD last Nov and it was really yummy and seemed a great deal!

We're thinking of the last week in Jan. We'd planning on the Polynesian so a code or 4/3 deal or free dining would be VERY helpful!

How much is it normally to go there? Isn't it like almost 400.00 a night? Hmm, that wouldn't work even with the deal, I guess.

What is Marathon weekend and how will it affect crowds then?
