Jan 2009 Code Watch

Ooooh, goody goody goody!! The post about what that CM said this morning is making my day. My head is spinning a little bit...I am wishing my airfare weren't already booked in the event there's an offer that would tempt me to extend our stay!

I have POR booked, and I was planning to stick with it even if I applied a discount, but lately I've been dreaming about upgrading to AKL. We have a parents' nite out planned with a Jiko ADR and the kids in Simba's Club, and it would be sooo much easier if we were staying at AKL.

Okay, now that I've put my wishes down on paper (so to speak) maybe they'll be granted??

I am on pins and needles! :jumping1:

I am also waiting for a code or something for Jan.

We went about 2 weeks after 9/11, but had already been booked a few months in advance. The deal we got was buy 1 adult package, get a child for free. At the time I had 2 kids, so we paid for 2 adult park hoppers and got 2 kids free. It also included plane tickets, paid for 2 adults and the kids were free. They didnt have the dining plan at the time, and we stayed at the All Star Movies. Cant remember what we paid total, but I think it was around $2000 for a week stay. I have never seen a deal like that again, and I remember they ran an add in the Sunday paper that I noticed and thats how we found out.

Something like that would be great.

We see deals like this for us to Disneyland here and there..... there are always a lot of Kids fly free with paying adults and last year we saw the kids fly AND stay AND play free.... WE haven't taken advantage ever, but it is always tempting.

HOWEVER we already have our air booked... and are flying into Miami 2 weeks prior. I'd love to see free dining + a room discount or upgrade + park hopper upgrade + a gift certificate to spend in the parks!

A girl can dream, right :hippie:

This is getting sooooo exciting!!! Finally - some news. Now the negative part of my personality is thinking "What if this is a joke" or "It is only for AP or FL residents".

I was kinda thinking that too...about it being for AP/Fl residents only!!!

No offense to anyone - but the kids stay/fly free is great for all of those with kids, but it sure leaves out a lot of people who travel at that time of year because they have no kids to take out of school and can go then. For all of those people, a different type of discount sure would be nice. Although, again, keeping things in perspective, just being able to go is a wonderful thing and personally I'm very grateful for that - code or no code.

I recently got a survey about my upcoming January trip - about a week ago asking what my budget would be for the trip and how important dining was to me...I am guessing this survey could be part of what they will put in the new packages!

Maybe the info will leak once the meeting is over!

I promise that I, an OCD code watcher, would not make anything like this up. The CM was actually looking at my ressie and knew my addie and everything, he also knew that I was interested in buying an AP just to get the discount. He was trying to get me to wait to add the AP until the offer has been made.
So I don't think that it is for AP/FL res. only.
However, I guess he could have been a mean guy and just saying that, but I didn't get that feeling.
Let's hope it's for real.

This thread is killing me. I was pretty happy about my AP discount I got. I have still been lurking every day, waiting like the rest of you to see what else is, if anything, will be offered. Now, the news of an even better deal is driving me nuts!! :headache:

I too am hoping for something big, but am traveling with my DH alone this time, so "free kids" won't help me out at all.

Here's to a great discount for all!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I got the same survey! I tried my hardest to come up with the "right" answers (answers that would result in the best code for that time period!)

I did one as well. But then I had a chat session w/ a CM this morning -you know the ones that pop up during a trip planning? Anyway... he was pushing the TS dining & lots of ??s about whether or not we liked it/not liked it. Same with a resort choice. Why do I like the Poly...why try a mod this time. My answers are just like everyone else's ...$$ or actually lack there of!!!!! So nothing for us is set in stone, but at the end of the conversation he said we'll see you in January. Maybe... but I kept stressing how important a discount is if this trip is going to happen.:confused3

What does 4day/night mean? is it 3 nights and 4 days or 4 days and 5 nights? Also, what is a package, is it dining included? Does anyone have a link to how much packages run right now? Sorry about all the questions, never booked anything but room only so I'm clueless!:surfweb:

At that time the promotion was:

Buy a 5 day/4 night package, which was room and tickets, at rack rate, lit would cost $xx.00....... you would actually get 8 day/ 7 night package for the same original $xx.00

THE DDP was not an option back then. Check their site http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index for package info.

Do they have your info in front of them??? B/c when I chatted w/ a cm (while planning a trip on the website) he knew where we had stayed before & about dining???? He knew the month I was interested in but I was just typing that on the website.:confused3

I called in, and already had a ressie. So, he made me verify my name, home addie, and email addie. So the info was in front of him, and I had stated it.
That's weird that the online CM knew all that....were you logged in? Freaky.

Hmmm, I wonder about the 9/11 thing. I love low crowds, but I hope they get a great code to bring enough people in so that it's not dead and somewhat ghostly like it was on our trip there in Jan/Feb after 9/11! I posted about it earlier, but the big things I remember were lots of rides shut down (not being refurbished), the DTD boats not running, and stuff like that. That was the first time it's EVER been like that when we've been there, and we always go in Jan/Feb.

I received the same survey. Alot of questions about shopping and dining. I tried to estimate low $$ amounts. Can't hurt to let them know that finances are tight right now.

What if you have an AP as your ticket??? Will you just pay for the resort at rack rate ??? OR Will you have to buy tickets????

Thanks. It won't let me check prices for calendar dates in Jan. Do they have package discounts with AP for regular dining pkg or just the counter service?
