Jan 2009 Code Watch

We don't have a back-up...we will still stay at Pop with the AAA package, 9 -day hopper, with water park option and dining. I would love to have a code, but we're committed at the current price were paying.

I have a question, what if it's cold or rainy and you can't/won't use the water park option? Wouldn't it be better to not have that but then purchase it if weather permits when you get there? That might save you some money. I have been to Fla during Jan and it has been warm and sunny and it has been cold and rained quite a bit.

Okay, looking at backup plans now. I found a Family Suite at ASMu for $107 per night on Sam's Club Travel. Of course, I'd have to do tickets separately & I don't think I could do the dining plan that way, but it's a $462 over the current Disney price!
Can anyone tell me what the package discount for AAA is? We are going 1/21-1/27 to ASMu w/3 adults +1 child +1 infant. MYW + DDP package. If nothing comes out from Disney this month, I may have to switch to Sam's or join AAA! I'm driving myself crazy trying to get the best deal possible here!:rotfl:

I have AAA discount for 1/24-2/1 and it's 20% off rack (82.00 per nite I think) for Pop.

I know last year when we went, instead of getting the ph+water park option, we stuck with park hoppers because for the price of adding the w/p option onto all 9 days for everyone in your party, it was better to just pay the admission for the day or 2 that we would go to the water parks (we ended up not doing this because we decided not to do the water parks). Unless you plan on utilizing the "more" part of the waterpark ticket, or you plan on going to them more than once or twice, you may want to compare the price of just buying a separate ticket vs. applying it to your entire reservation.
Come on codes! I'm getting impatient!

They're not cheerleaders but they are teenagers.....

My daughter is attending Faith in 3D over MLK weekend.

It's based at CSR.

Lexmelinda, just wondering about all those kids being at CSR (ha ha I will be traveling with a teenager too) - when do you estimate they will return home. I see the conference is ending 1/19, but do you think many will stay until the next weekend? This could explain why there are no standard rooms at CSR on 1/22??? Feel free to PM me! Thanks.

Well, I was peeling wallpaper just to pass the time.......off to do another room.....let's hope a code comes soon or I'll have redecorated the whole house!

question: I am eagerly awaiting codes, like all of you. We have booked Movies from Jan 1-8th with Basic Dining for four and park entry for all 8 days and are paying $2276. Last year we stayed at AKL during the exact same time period and paid $2746. We're hoping for a code that will allow us to stay at AKL again for the same price, or therabouts, as we LOVED AKL (well, we didn't love the long hike to our room, but we learned our lesson and will request a closer room :rolleyes1 ). We LOVED Boma--by far our fave restaurant and would eat there just about every night if we could get AKL again.

Anyway, my point: is it worth joining AAA to get a discount for AKL? WOULD we even GET a discount for AKL if we joined AAA? Advice please! How much (if anything) is the AAA discount? I haven't read the threads about AAA because I was't a member, but now I am wondering if it's worth joining? (and we don't even own a car LOL!!!!!)

The AAA discount is 15% off the Deluxe resorts during the value season. I'm not sure if your whole stay would be considered value season but you could get it for most of your stay. January 1 and 2 might not be value season. Someone else can chime in here and let you know that.

We like to go to Disney Quest in the evening, so as long as we go twice it's cheaper to get the water park and more option.

subscribing I am monitoring all the sites and calling to see if a pin is attached to the family but keep getting the same old, CM says nothing yet and "we are not privledged to knowing when the discounts will be released." I wonder if they are telling the truth or just mastered the art of lying. :confused3 :surfweb:

we are members but was told that you would have to book the trip through AAA and we are already booked with package ar CR, deluxe dinning , and park hopper. can I still get the AAA discount.

Wow!! That's a really good point! I wouldn't have thought of that but it does make sense!

I really don't think they'd offer the code tomorrow. Otherwise all us crazy disney people will be too far into the planning frenzy to go vote! Although mayber their trying to sway the election ;) :lmao:

What is AAA discount at peak season? Or is there one?

I'm pretty sure that I read it's 10%. Still for most the discount pays for AAA and I LOVE AAA. I feel much more secure travelling by myself knowing I have AAA and they will come wherever I need them. So at the very least it's almost like getting AAA free.

I booked my stay with the AAA rate for Jan.1-10th, the rate was appllied to the whole trip, including the lst and 2nd!.:flower3:

OK- I've decided to join in on the January code watch festivities (I've been hesitant). I have had to cancel our past few WDW trips due to a various reasons, but since my oldest kiddo is going to be a WDW CM in January there will be no reason to cancel. I made my ressies this morning using my AAA discount and hoping for WDW to offer a nice special, so we can upgrade to a Deluxe. :)

AAA discount is not always available. Once a certain numbers of rooms are taken at that price, it's no longer available. AAA could tell you if it's available before you join.

Do you have to book through a AAA travel agent to get a AAA discount? We have AAA but booked our trip through a Disney TA.
