Jan 2009 Code Watch

I thought for sure something would be out already. What the heck is going on? Come on, Disney, work your magic!!

Off to make the kiddos some breakfast and clean up (don't want to scare away the trick or treaters when I open the door & they see my messy house, haha).
Happy Halloween, everyone!

I've already booked our flights.

We could drive just an hour to an airport and pay $500+ each; OR we could drive 4 hours and pay just $205 each. Saving $1200 ..... that was an easy choice. :thumbsup2

Thankfully I booked our flights a few weeks ago as the same flights now are $280. There are other flights in the $200-$240 range, but not at the times of day that we got. Living where we do and going in January (cold/snow/ice), we prefer to drive during daylight, so by booking early, we were able to get flights that go along with this. Having to pay for a hotel to leave in the early a.m. would eat up some of the savings ... and every little bit helps!

I also look at the layover options. In January, the possibilities of delays due to weather are something to think about. Best to layover in cities that are less prone to blizzards, etc.

Anything is possible at this point. There is no way for us to know for sure. "Historically" they've had discounts at this time of year, but it's not a guarantee that it will happen again this year.

Good morning, code watchers:wave2: I thought for sure we would have a code today:confused: I guess I'll have to keep refreshing this thread to get the latest news. Anyways, I'm at work, so I can't upload a picture of my dog, but she's a 2 year-old Terrier mix named Bella. And I have to say that she is the CUTEST dog ever....I know, you'll just have to take my word for it since I don't have a picture;)

Here's Bella's pic... :)

And here are Bella's two cousins.. My cuties:

Ok back to lurking and hoping for a code. :)

Here's to hoping there's a code today!

This will be our first real vacation together, and I can't wait!

She is an absolute sweetie. :cloud9: And yup, she loves a good belly rub....and there's lots of belly there, let me tell ya! :rotfl2:

We got the poor little mite at the Humane Society when she was just a few weeks old. Been beaten so badly her jaw had been broken, and re-set on an angle :sad2: . To this day, she's still pretty nervous......I don't think animals ever fully recover from that kind of abuse.

That's so sad! I can't believe people behave the way they do in this world  But at least she has lots of love now! She reminds me of one of my best friend's cats. His name was Mr. Kitty and he was the biggest cat I had ever seen! And he was the best cat. I can't have cats because I'm allergic but I LOVE big fat sweet cats! So giver her a big pet from me :wave2:

okay, so I'm sure this is dicussed somewhere in the 98 pages of posts, but I'm lazy and looks like we could use some conversation since we're waiting for a stinkin code..i mean a wonderful magical disney-rific code.
I've been lurking for days and am planning a trip jan3rd-10th. I've been driving myself insane thinking if I can get a discount, we'll definately go...otherwise it's not a done deal.
So if I go ahead and book a trip including hotel and tix, would I be able to revise my ressie if a code comes out. even if it's a room only code? Will they convert my ressie to the room only and then add tix at the regular non-package rate?
Thanks for your help, I too am getting a kick out of the morning conversation
Nicole
Oh and I have a 10 1/2 month old lab who likes to eat my stuff...yesterday he ate my coupons. :o)

If I understand correctly, you can revise your ressie with a code. If you are within 45 days of your trip, and the revision decreases your $$ to disney (ie saves you $$), then you pay a $50 change fee. I'm not sure if this is true for room only ressies or just for packages.

We are doing at the same time! :-) Here's to great weather and small crowds!!:yay:

Oh my gosh! So cute!!!! Love Bailey's pic!! LOL Looking for some codes when you need to step away? What a good dog!!:rotfl2:

I have never gotten a code or discount, so the anticipation is killing me. Does anyone think that this will go on thru next week? I really need some words of encouragement. :sad2:

So, as a person who has read 98 pages of this thread, I think I know the answer, but I am not the expert. But here goes...You are able to revise your reservation if a code comes out, even if it's a room only code. Your park tickets would be at regular rate and they keep the tickets on your reservation. Did this help?

The 45 day window is only for packages. You can revise/cancel a room-only reservation up to 6 days before arrival.

okay, i guess i'm going to just book it. I dunno, worst is i pay rack rate...but at least we'll have a room.

okay anxiously awaiting a code though most likely my dates will not apply Jan 16-22nd (well I would also love a code for Disney Wonder Jan 22-25th but I know that is not happening). If a Disney Visa code does come out for a package is there a way to book it and somehow use my disney visa rewards points to pay it off? I currently have a AAA room rate and paid for 1 night but was planning on using my rewards card (which I don't physically have yet) to pay off the room.

I still have not booked anything. :scared1:
I am keepin' the faith in the mouse.
I think I will only give it to next week, then I will have to book.
Here is to a code before then!!! :drinking1

Good plan. It is best to at least have your room reserved. You can apply a discount when (note my positive thinking) one comes available.

We made our reservations way back in August. I tend to plan ahead a little too much. :rotfl:

Saw on CNN this morning that airlines are dropping fares for Christmas. Northwest started it on Tuesday (dropping 25%) and others have followed suit. Maybe this'll carry over into January???
