Jan 2009 Code Watch

Just an update for those who wanted AP rates + dining...

When I called it seemed that the disney agent actually had access to the codes for dining (both reg ddp and counter service ddp) but she couldn't find them in her system - probably because though the codes exist at this point they aren't loaded in the system or they aren't available yet.

In a day or two when I call back & apply the dining codes (just to add dining to the reservation, not free dining) I will post it here as soon as I have success. I wrote down the actual code names that are associated w/ dining just in case.

Here's what the passholder page says as far as dates & rates:

"See the dream rates if you book now:

Select Disney Value Resorts - Standard Room
$49 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights 1/2 - 1/15 and 1/19 - 2/12/09

Select Disney Moderate Resorts - Standard Room
$89 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights 1/4 - 1/17 and 1/21 - 2/12/09

Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Standard Room
$144 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights Sunday - Thursday 1/2 - 1/15 and 1/19 - 2/12/09

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa - Studio
$179 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights 1/1 - 2/12/09"

Again, we can't post the actual AP codes here - it's against the rules. If you are already a passholder, go to the passholder website for the code, it's under Passholder Offers.
If you still want the code, I can probably send you an email or something.

Oh, and I booked the Caribbean Beach b/c I couldn't get the AP rates at the Coronado Springs, so some resorts don't have those rates available already.

Thanks.

i got quoted 104 for standard at pofq for jan 1 to 5 and 169 standard at animal does that sound right? where is the 89 and 144 come from? if anyone has access and would let me use thier ap info to login and check please please pm me. my pass expired and i can't check myself to play with the dates

Oh, and are the codes generally the same or similar for everyone? I mean, do you think the public code will be like the AP one?

the $89 was for value resorts and the $144 was for WL... those are great rates... preferred rooms at CBR with AP rate are $114 and $89 for standard

What I did was keep my AAA reservation and I am going to call my agent and have her apply the code... if she can get it for me great .... I also made a reservation with Disney... which I can cancel should my AAA agent be able to get it for me.... so right now I have reservations with both..... actually I have a room only resrvation, a package reservation and a AAA reservation.... and I will cancel 2 as soon as I figure which is best....the Disney folks told me if a Disney Visa deal comes out I can add that as well.... which surprised me because I didn't think you could stack codes...

So let me understand this - there are limited rooms available with the AP discount and now that you have 3 rooms booked, someone else may not be able to get one- isn't that right.

Or - maybe someone out there really wants to stay where you are staying and can't because you have 2 extra rooms booked that you know you are not going to use.

I was able to get the AP discount for two garden view rooms at the Grand Floridian January 15-20. Two of the nights were at the discounted rate of $303/night and three of the nights were at the slightly higher discounted rate of $323/night due to the MLK holiday. That's about $100/night less than the rack rate.

After I factor in the increased cost of buying an AP versus a 5-day ticket, it still saves me over $350. Now I'll have to talk my wife into going back sometime later in 2009.

So I'm not AP so these codes don't apply, but am I getting this right...? The codes that you guys got today were room only?? (this stuff about dining has me confused) Say if I WAS AP, how would this work with my res.? We have 6 nights at POR with the DDP already booked...

Just trying to peice this all together so I can be as smart as ya'll. :)

We got room only codes. The disney agent actually told me the package codes, but they weren't working in her computer as of yet.
So for today, so far, AP codes are room only - around 40% off for most resorts available.

If you were AP, your agent would apply the AP code to your existing reservation, but you would have to drop the dining. You could add on the dining when the AP dining rate comes out.

What I've done is this...I booked my reservation w/ AP rates and also went ahead and made my adr's but I haven't added dining to my booking. When the package AP code comes out (who knows when) they will add the dining and the code to my reservation.

Does that make sense?

I am just hoping they offer the Fl resident rates again to those of us in Alabama. I don't want to dish out $500.00 for an AP at this time as our January trip is spur of the moment and I am getting 4 day PH for $168.00 each from a group I belong to. For our trip in October I am planning on buying 10 day PH no expire to cover this year and our next trip. The only advantage that the AP would offer us is the discount on dining and free parking if we stay off property. Even if I add the room rate for AP and save the parking cost it will still be $311 MORE than the trip I have planned already.

As of 2 minutes ago when I spoke with reservations there were plenty of rooms left at CBR... and I would not have even held more than one reservation had it not been suggested by the CM doing the reservations... I will continue to call throughout the day and if at any time CBR sells out I will release my other reservations.... but I am sure if the CM suggested this to me then it was suggested to many others as well....at this point the only moderate not having availability is CSR....which my reservations do not affect.

We are going Jan 14-17 and got the Yacht Club for $268 including tax. :cool1: Didn't ask about Beach Club, all she could find at Boardwalk was a 2 bedroom suite for $1,000+. Decided we didn't need that one. . . .

That's terrific - I called at 9 am and they said the YC did not have any discounts available for 1/19 -1/24. They offered me a 1 bd at BCV, 6 nights for $1878 - but that won't work for us.

I just don't think it is right to do that IMO - there may be available rooms, but once a resort reaches a specific capacity, new reservations cannot receive AAA, AP or any other type of discount. That is the purpose of the discounts, to get the rooms booked. I'm sure you are not the only one doing it, so if Disney thinks they have all these rooms booked, why offer further discounts.

I believe last year Disney VIsa came out first.... I still think that there will be a Disney Visa code... maybe tomorrow....

Just got $144/night standard view at WL (before tax) for January 28-31. :hyper:

I asked about BoardWalk Inn and was quoted $268.66/night (including tax) for standard view.

So is there any hope that Visa will offer a code now that the AP codes are out? A previous post said that the Visa code had come out first in the past & then the AP codes/discount. Just wondering, I was hoping to upgrade if a Disney Visa code came out or get free dining....

Yes, you can have the dining plan with an AP

This morning when I got my discount (AP) she said there weren't any AP package discounts out "yet". She was one of the best cm's I've dealt with and was very efficient yet extremely friendly.

Mousesavers hasn't updated their deals since 10/27...does that mean they won't post Visa discounts if they come out tomorrow.
