Jan 2009 Code Watch

Free upgrade to the park hopper passes would be nice too!

Yes nice... but not near as good of a savings... I'm still hoping for 40% off or Free dining. Either of those and I'll return my UCT tickets and sign up for a MYW plan with Dining.

We're not planning on park hopping..... but I'd love a good deal!

So this coming week for a discount???? Where will it usually be posted first?

The past couple of years it has been park hopper- I hope we get a better one this year!

Im hoping for the % off the room since we already have our park tickets.. I bought the no expiration on our last tickets and bought extra days so we could get 2 trips out of them.. fingers are crossed!

I did the same! I bought 10 day parkhopper/ waterpark and more/no expiration tickets last vacation and only used 5! I think it was only $130 some dollars difference between the 5 day and the 10 day! I knew this would get me back soon to WDW! I like you are rooting for the 40% off room rate, but if free dining comes up, I will invest in a 1 to 3 day ticket for that particular package! :cheer2:

So does a 40% off code apply to a package?

(sorry for all the questions, by the way...but I figured since we're all just sitting here waiting that it can't hurt to ask! I appreciate all the help!)

I believe the 40% off you are referring to is a "room" discount.

Package discounts are not out yet for January, and for the past couple of years has been a discounted room (no where near 40%), and when you buy park tickets you get upgraded for free for park hoppers & water parks &more.

You can always call Disney to see if there is a pin code attached to your phone number for any deals.

Well, we booked bounceback free dining for next Sept. and it's the regular dining plan again.

You did?!? That's GREAT news!!! :thumbsup2 So it was the exact same price as a MYW package without the dining? Out of curiosity did they offer the free dining with the quick service plan at all or was that plan excluded from the free dining promo? That would make perfect sense if they simply excluded it.

The new quick service dining plan doesn't take effect until almost the middle of January

Oh I know that. But there is no way that Disney is going to offer one discount for the first 10 days of January and then change it for the rest of the promo. The promo will be a Jan - Mar type deal as always. That being said, if the counter service meal plan is simply excluded from free dining, then there it's absolutely possible that we WILL see free dining in January!!! :goodvibes

I am really hoping for the room discount. My little guys don't eat that much, and we are willing to watch the budget and bring snacks from home, so free dining won't help us out as much!

This is our first time staying onsite without a rental car, so I like the idea of having the extra money to put towards that, just in case! Although, I have to say, we are a little excited about not having to drive all week! We will really be able to take advantage of the Dis transportation on marathon day when the roads are packed getting into Epcot. I can't wait!

Yes! It was the same price, no room discount on top of it like I was hoping! But, I'm not complaining because free dining saves me tons of money with a family of 5...boy, can my boys eat!! :rotfl: Oh, and the offer was the reg. dining plan or you could upgrade, for a price of course, to the deluxe plan. We had enough food on the regular plan, no need to upgrade for us.

Lets assume Disney gives the free dining for January. If I book my vacation by renting DVC points from an individual am I eligible for the dining discount?

No, you would not be eligible for free dining. You may purchase a dining plan when renting DVC points.
If free dining is offered you must purchase a Magic Your Way package which consists of room and tickets to get the free dining plan.

It may be worthwhile to do the math and see which is better for you renting versus a room discount versus free dining.

Thanks very helpful.

Don't they sometimes let you add-on the dining plan package (at its full price) after they take the 40% off room?

I already booked my package for BCV with dining with AAA. If a code comes out would I be able to use call my agent to use it????

I'm getting worried. I booked a MYW package and am wondering if I should have just kept it as a room only reservation in case they release room only discounts. Yikes!

We checked our e-mail last night and woooohoooooo !!   had a 40 % pin code !! Just got off the phone with reservations and booked for Jan. 25 - 30, for $ 276.00. :cool1: Finally....... been waiting for a while. Congrats!

Are you only able to apply pin codes to room only reservations or can they be applied to packages?
