Just checked the Disney Visa site and nothing there.........

Well, A new code came out today. Unfortunatly it was for 11-1-08 to 12-23-08. It was not a great code antway. $59.00 for Value resorts and $174.00 for deluxe studios. This code will not end until Dec.7. Does that mean we will have to wait until Dec.8? I am so annoyed right now. Im still going to Disney but it is looking like without a code. Maybe they will surprise us on Monday.

grrrrr! I'm waiting to see a code too! I hear that Disney can't fill the resorts for Nov/Dec that's why the codes keep being extended. Doesn't help us who want to travel in Jan plan a trip! I can't plan until I see if the code is worth going or not.

I am officially in...I am secretly planning a trip for the end of January, and my husband is going to freak out when he finds out. It is a lot of fun making all these plans, but PLEASE give us a code for January! Don't they know we have to make plans??? I am hoping for 40% off or free dining. My fear, though, is that they won't offer much because they have already been doing so much through December. I don't think they want to make a standard of having such good deals throughout the year! Anyone else having those fears??

Kbbunny - good luck finding airfare from MSP...cheapest I have found is $219 pp on Airtrain for the end of January. I guess it is better than some, but I REALLY wish we could get other airlines that could offer lower rates!!

I think we all just need to be patient...Like others have said, last year the January codes didn't come out until Oct 31/Nov 1. Plus, given that there HAVE been January codes for the past few years, plus the declining economy, I think Disney has no choice but to offer codes. But like I said, patience!!

I don't think they would hold off until Dec. 8th. If they're having this much trouble filling the resorts through November and December, then I'm sure they're going to be anxious to fill them in January.

I doubt it will be throughout the year. They still haven't offered anything for Christmas through New Year's (their busiest time) and there wasn't really an increase in codes until the end of the summer after most kids have gone back to school... I'm sure they're paying attention to their bottom line, and they wouldn't offer the codes unless it meant they would make more money.

Disney has been offering MORE deals over the past few months trying to get people to come during their less busy times. January is historically one of their less busy times, so I'm sure we'll get something. They're just waiting to offer anything to the general public, because they know many of us our already booked and will rebook at the lower rate if it's offered. I'm just hoping for something a little more than the free ticket upgrade from last year, unless it was paired with a hefty room rate reduction, it wouldn't convince me that I need to book a package.

Another one hoping for a code!!!! We're Jan 3-9 at POP and if a code comes out I'd love either 40% off rooms (we've got two connecting rooms) or else Free DINING. Either way - - if a code comes out for either of those we'll switch our room only to a package and take advantage of a dining plan..... As a precaution, I added a few extra dining reservations today just in case!!!!

I have noticed on this thread that alot of people use AAA to make thier room reservations. Are you able to get a package through AAA at a discount also or do you just get a room discount? This will be our 4th trip to disney but we have always got a package through Disney. With money a little tighter these days im just trying to figure what is the best way to save the most amount of money. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

2008 was the first year free dining was offered in Oct, Nov, and Dec. Since January is usually slower than those months, I don't see why free dining wouldn't be a possibility.

This is a pretty crowded time at Disney right now anyway. A lot of schools give a fall break in conjunction with Columbus day and it affects the crowd at Disney = we love to go in October b/c the weather is awesome and the crowds are low but the last time we went over Columbus day we wished we had picked another time when the crowds weren't so high!

You can get a room only with AAA through AAA or through Disney. You can get a package with the AAA discount on the room portion only, but that's available only through AAA.

However, the number of AAA discounted rooms are limited.

Just to let everyone know the Disney reservation system is down. Maybe they are getting ready to come out with a code for Jan. I can only hope and wait.

I have a question that's probably already been asked. Here goes anyway.

We booked through AAA and got their discount. Should a code come out for our time, do we have to completely cancel our reservation in order to take advantage or can they just apply it?

Generally, you can have your AAA agent can apply the new code. However, you can only have one discount per package - either the code or the AAA discount. Make sure that you're actually getting the better one for your family before you change it! Sometimes your AAA discount may work out better than a code.
