We are planning our 4th WDW trip! Last two weeks of Jan 2006. We are flying airmiles and now looking at a super place to stay!!
DH wants only 5 days of WDW this time. I could go longer than that!

That's too funny...we are heading to WDW for OUR 4th trip...at the end of January/first of February 2006...maybe we'll see you there.
We are planning some non-Disney stuff, but our focus is the entire WDW resort...so we'll be staying on Disney property.

We are planning to go down around that time too - we will be visiting our son who will be working at Epcot.

:wave2: Hi,
Sounds just like I wrote this.haha except only our 2nd trip. Are you thinking about staying at Universal? I still can't decide what would be the best to do. Saving money by using airmiles now makes other decisions hard!

So wonderful to hear from all of you!!!! Wow! We love WDW so much. It has been three years and our 8 yr old doesn't remember a lot! Our older two do though and can't wait.

We would like to stay whereever there is a lot of room and a WARM pool. I can't emphasize that enough! We have had two cold Jan in Orlando and most do not heat their pools

yes, Air miles works fine but still book through our TA unless info here is helpful! saving with air miles means I don't have too scrimp on hotel or rooms.
Breakfast included is a good idea.

We want to do Seaworld, Bush Garden for sure. We have done WDW, Universal, GatorLand (loved it) Daytona.

Stayed on site once, Sheraton Vistana Villages (incredible and great deal at the time) Marriot (too small, yikes, for five).

I find this site an incredible help when booking. Often refer friends here who have also booked things through here!

Anyone's experience about a four day Disney pass with a four day non-Disney pass would be helpful.

WOW
We are going to be there the last Jan/ first Feb. Dates unsure yet. I'm waiting to build up some more airmiles. I'll book in Sept. We are going to stay in POP. Our first time staying on site. I'm praying for free dining!!! It is value season.

Sillyminny40...the pools at the WDW resorts (and water parks) are heated...my girls have spent many a cold January evening in the pool ::yes::

canucktyke...where in Epcot is your son working?....Is he there yet?...we're planning on visiting another DISer, Evil Queen, who is at the Canada Pavilion for the year.

Hi sherri! If you are staying at POP, are you getting a good price? I remember the warm pool my sister had while we were offsite in a COLD pool! Ha ha! We are using air miles too, hence three years since our last visit. :earsboy:

Hi Sillyminny40! I haven't booked yet as I have to wait to get my flights first. In 2004 we had our own pool (4br house). This trip its just DH,DS11,DS8 and myself . This is our first time staying on site.I am so excited!! I hope they will have free dining for that value season! :cool1:

Sherry we have ds's who will be 9, 13 and 13 (twins) by January. They are great travellers and are keen for any family holiday. In fact, we have NEVER travelled anywhere without them!
How did you like the house in Orlando? Any suggestions if we do that?
We LOVED staying on site (Port Orleans) and the buses and the ability to hop and around! Free dining? Wow. Our boys eat so much we would be ahead!
We haven't heard of many Jan specials for Disney resorts in the six years we have been doing WDW.
We would definitely stay on site if it was offered! :cool1:

We had a 4br house with a pool at Windsor Palms in Feb 2004.Besides our family of 4 , we had DM,DMIL,& DFIL. The house was about 3yrs old and very clean. It was very cool to open the patio doors and just jump in the pool for a swim. :cool1: We had about a 5min drive to WDW main gates. We went to superwalmart and stocked up on groceries the first day. By the end of our two week stay I was getting tired of cooking and cleaning.I can do all of that at home. :rotfl2: We booked our house from our TA and were very pleased. P.S. we did have to pay extra to have the pool heated ,but it was worth every penny. :sunny:

The homes we have looked at add a $30 a day fee US for heating the pool. Is that the going rate?

We paid about$100/week CA. That was almost 2 years ago,but I felt that in was necessary in Feb. Just check as it might be cheeper by the week.

We will be at POP the first week of January. All the pools at WDW are heated to 82 F. Which feels really warm especially when the air is cooler. We were there in Dec. with air temps inthe 50s - 70s and the pools felt great.

If you have CAA you can get a rate at one of the value resorts for $70.25/US per night including tax during value season.
If free dining is offered then you would pay rack rate of $79US/nt plus tax plus free dining.

Any thoughts anyone on free dining possibly being offered during January? I always just assumed it would be offered only during hurricane season. But imagine if it is offered during Jan/06. A room for $79/nt on site plus free dining. What a deal that would be..... :flower:

I will also be arriving at Pop Jan 5 as I am running the Marathon.

Lets all hope that Free Dining be extended/reinstated at that time of the year!!!!
