Jan.2006 code watch!!

I'm keeping an eye out for either AP or Fl resident rates for my in-laws who will be joining us Jan 3-7th. Does anyone know when they release Fl resident rates? I'm assuming about the same time as AP rates. Oh well, I have my reservation made with my DVC points so I'll just sit back and try to be patient for the remaining reservation. :rolleyes1

We are booked for 2/4-2/11 but am thinking about switching to the previous week because of the crowd #s for that first week in February. I'm just worried about the weather. It's been so crazy lately. I'm taking my DF and her 2 DS for the first time and I want it to be special and the weather needs to cooperate! :sunny:

Can anybody tell me what the weather was like in January or the first week of February 2005?
I did a quickie trip by myself last year in Feb. as an add-on to a trip for business. It was chilly enough in the morning for a sweatshirt or a jacket. The afternoons were beautiful.

Hi,
We booked our Jan. 16-23, 2006 trip through Disney with the AAA discount for POR and got our park tickets too. At first, DH booked a package without AAA, then I called back to apply AAA discount and they told me that I had to break up the package( get AAA rate for room and then purchase ticket ). I guess that if I wanted to add dining option, it would then be a package and I could no longer get the AAA discount. Does this sound right? I'm thinking about canceling with Disney and rebooking with AAA directly just in case a free dining plan comes out. What would anyone else recommend? Thanks for your input.
p.s. It's great to see this thread and I read it daily. Thanks for all the advice from everyone!!! :flower:

Guess I don't have to wait for codes anymore. I was able to book SOG since my brother is going with us now...whooohooo...

SOG is Shades of Green. It is only open to Military members, active and retired etc. It may be open to DOD employees too but I can't remember. It is the same level as a Disney Deluxe and it is on the Disney property. The rates are super low and a great deal.

what she said :-) My brother is in the army so I'm able to stay there. A standard room that is larger than most Disney deluxe standard rooms is only 99 bucks. They get all the Disney benefits, EMH and transportation. It is also available to DOD employees. Can't wait to stay there....

Hi. I'm wondering about this, too. I just got AAA and booked a room only through Disney. I'm wondering how do I go about getting a better discount on tickets and dining? I'm waiting to see if dining will be coming out for my December trip. Do I need to cancel my Disney AAA ressie? Then rebook a package through AAA? Or do I just wait to see what happens with any possible discounts coming up? I'm kinda lost on what to do. Any tips?

Mary

I'm not positive, but from reading this board I think that you can NOT modify a room only ressie to a package. You MUST cancel the room only and book a new ressie (package). I would be worried if you cancelled the room only then if you couldn't get the package you wanted, what if you went to rebook the room only with AAA discount, then it might not be available. Then what?

But I also don't think you can hold two ressies at one time (for the same dates) so what does one do in this circumstance?

I currently have two back to back ressies (one for Dec 31 at Holiday rack rate and then one ressie Jan 1-7 at value rate with an AAA/CAA discount) Both are room only. I think if free dining if offered it won't be offered until Jan 2 check-in. Then I will have 3 ressies: 1. Dec 31 holiday rack rate POP, 2. Jan 1 value resort with AAA discount at POP 3. Jan 2-7 package w/free dining pay full rack rate for room, with tickets, free dining POP or another value whereever I can with free dining. Or maybe for Jan 2-7 I would upgrade to a mod. since I will be getting free dining.

Does this make any sense to anyone??

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How does the free dining work? We already have our room only AAA reservations and our tickets. Do I have to buy all 4 of us a one-day ticket to get the free dining if they offer it or only 1 one-day ticket?

Thanks for any help!! :cool1:

we're going Jan 27th to Feb 5th. Have booked 2 rooms, but may cancel and crowd into just one. However if free dining comes out for that time period, I will keep the 2 rooms, so DH and myself can :love2:

I am curious why folks keep referring to free dining in January. Have I missed something? Has someone from on high at Disney leaked this as a possibility? I thought it was sheerly a plan to bring folks in during hurricane season... :scratchin

I think people, Me included are "hoping" it will be extended """again"""!!!! I'm also going in Jan./Feb. and have already paid for my trip, but I'd love to get my dining "free".......... we could stay longer!!!!!
No one "official" or otherwise has said or even hinted that it is going to happen or is a possibility........ but since it was extended, we are all just hoping they'll do it again ~ that's all. You didn't miss anything!!! :earboy2:

Were the actual dates extended (more days of free dining added) or did they just extend the days they allowed you to call them and book your package for the same original dates of stay? I thought they kept the dates of the offer the same--but just gave you more days of opportunity to book it. I am a bit out of the loop on this subject so I could very well be wrong...

Apparently it was originally offered back in June........ then I had heard it was extended. I'm not sure when it was suppose to end originally, but, this is a little bit about it from mousesavers ;

"It's back! If you missed out when this package was offered in June, now's your chance to grab a fantastic deal.

Check in between 8/21/05 and 10/4/05 for a Magic Your Way vacation package of 3 nights or longer at a Walt Disney World resort and get the Dining Plan added at no extra cost!

Sample prices for a 5-night/6-day vacation, including 5 nights accommodations at a Value resort, 6-day Magic Your Way Base Ticket and FREE Dining Plan:

$425 per adult
$209 per junior (ages 10-17)
$168 per child (ages 3-9)"

I would think that if you did a search about it, you'd find more info on it than I know.

Hi everyone

I was wondering if we can use the codes for airlines? I have been watching the websites for ticket prices and they are really expensive. Unfortunately driving is not an option( crazy dh driver) ha ha.

I will keep watching for codes on mousesavers. Is there anywhere else we are to be looking for codes. First trip to wdw and can't wait going in jan2-6 2006 I have 2 adults and 3 teen girls, some airlines class them as kids and some as adults.

Please help save some money so I can spend at wdw
Christine :moped: :cool1:
