Jan.2006 code watch!!

I'll add my name to this list! My 20-year-old daughter and I are planning to go sometime early to mid-January. I'm new to the "codes", so could use advice on what to look for, etc.

Thanks!

Put me on the list!! January is the greatest time for Disney :-)

I might stay at the Nick hotel though...depending on how the reviews sound.

DPuck1998 (or others)-
This will be our first time visiting WDW in January. What do you like about that month? I know the crowds are low. How do you find the weather to be?

We were there this last Jan (21-27) and it was great! Days were in the high 70's with only one cold night where we had to stay in due to cold winds and rain. Worked out though since we were tired and we just got pizza delivered to the room and went to bed early. It also rained on our departure day, but the rain was extremley light and not too chilly so we just went to MK anyway. Low crowds and empty EMH in the evenings. We rode Splash Mountain 6 times in a row that night. Longest line we waited in all week was Mission space and it was only about 20 minutes. It was the best! We have always gone the beginning of Dec, but crowds were lower in January. Next trip is the frist week of Feb looking forward to more of the same crowds and weather!!

put me down for january too! it will only be our 2nd time to DW, and i am sooooo confused about the best way to book, and codes and ALL of that! we're hoping to go jan. 22-28 and stay at GF. stayed there last jan. and LOVED it. i'm gonna keep checking this board out, maybe the whole process will become less confusing to me!!

We're watching for Jan codes too. We are going on our first cruise Jan 15-19. I am hoping we can stay a couple of nights and go to Disney after the cruise.

We just got back from our first trip about 4 weeks ago and I can't wait to go back. I saw the post about the free dining plan for august/september and I'm so jealous of those who will be able to go then. That's a great deal. But I've already used all my vacation time for this year, so I'm hoping to make a trip in late January/early February.

Count me in on the watch! I went this past January (19-26) and it was great! I'm looking to head back around the same time in 2006 :)

I'll add my name to the list for January too! Hoping to get a good deal @ the AKL for my birthday. :earboy2:

I'm watching too! Actually my very reliable, Disney specialist TA is! lol I'm going with or without one though! :flower:

I'll be watching too. Driving from Canada...yes DH and I will be driving. Planning to stay on-site for 2 to 3 weeks. All tips and suggestions welcomed. :goodvibes

Also driving from Canada. Looking for a code for Jan 8th through 12th: without passes! We already have passes that we're going to spread over 2 more trips.

Have you travelled down from Canada before? Also, have you driven down in January before?
We're planning to purchase tickets at the Disney Information Center off the I-75. We're watching for a room code only.

Yes, we've driven 3 times in 4 years. Each trip we've done I75 one way and then for the other way (sometimes home, sometimes down) we've done 3 different routes to the east of I75. We did stop at the Disney Centre in Ocala for our 1 trip for tickets, but we got our tickets last time through Paramount (I found out about them on the DIS, of course!). They were the best price of anywhere.

Last trip we left before NY, spent NYE in Cocoa Beach & headed to Orlando on Jan 2nd (2003-04). Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!!

And, we'll be driving again! We love it.

I've been lurking but decided to jump in here since my DH has finally agreed to a trip!

We're planning to stay at POP Jan 1-4 after spending Christmas with my parents, who live nearby. I hope we get some great codes!

We're going too -- Jan 14 -- 21!!!! to celebrate DD's graduation from college in December!!! We're looking at staying in the FW cabins (DD LOVES the cabins) Also going are are DD's best friend & one of my DDILs and two of her adorable little curtain-climbers.

SO GLAD YOU STARTED THIS THIS THREAD -- as we'll be searching for discounts like crazy. Just saw what looks like it might be a good deal from AMEX -- buy a $300 -- $1200 travelers' cheque card and they'll give you a voucher for a "free" companion airfare (BIG deal when flying to MCO from west of the Mississippi). I will be investigating the details over the next several months (offer is good through October I think)

I'm watching too! We finally figured out which week so now just need to know the deals so we can plan which hotel. (We are going with our families for our 10th)

P.S. Can you book thought Disney and use the AAA discount if no other discount hits then or do I need to call AAAs?

You can book a AAA discount through Disney; you don't need to go through AAA. Those discounts should come out in late summer to early fall.

Count us in. Just got back from WL 20-27th May. Looking forward to a cooler less crowded time at Contemporary on the 20th through 27th of January, here's hoping for a code :Pinkbounc
