Jan 2 2013 Dream Cruise

I just paid for a last minute cruise on the Dream. This will be our 10th:cheer2:
My self (Evelyn) and my 17 year old son Matthew. This is truly the only way I get to truly relax and Matt enjoys the Vibe. I know its too late for FE, we did it on our last cruise and had a great time. I will be delivering some surprises to those on the list just because I love doing it. Hope to meet everyone on the 2nd. It will be so much fun. May everyone have a Blessed New Year see you in 2013!!!!!!!pixiedust:

Welcome aboard! We look forward to meeting all on January 2nd! I envy those that can jump in last minute as I am a compulsive planner ;)

Taking down x-mas decorations, cleaning, and almost done packing. I'm ready to be GONE . . .

Just looked at weather. Its COLD in Orlando today, but it should warm up for the trip. Highs in the Bahamas are about 80ish. But the current forecast is for rain on our Castaway Cay day. Bummer.

Where and what time is the meet and greet?

Jodie

Yes it is cold. Today and yesterday. Even the Cast Members were saying it is unusual.

Anyway, too bad we came here too late for the FE thing.

Is the Meet and Greet open to anyone or just those that are part of the exchange?

Meet and greet is open to everyone, I believe. I hope anyway as I plan to be dropping in. :dance3:

That was an awesome time! Hope all had a magical time with many wonderful memories! Thank you to all from the meet and greet and fe's... felt like we were cruising with friends. We loved all pf our presents.
Now, driving through Georgia watching the thermometer drop- post Disney depression setting in...

Time to start planning the next Disney trip! I already have. :) I think we are going to try to do DLR for Halloween. I just need to wait until march and see if I can book VGC with our DVC points.

Had a great time!!! Learned a lot about David and Bethany at Match your Mate!! :rotfl2: Our table mates at dinner were awesome, our room was super, weather was great.....cant wait until our next cruise!! We loved Nick (the adult entertainment host) he was so fun. The farewell skit from the staff the last night in Evolution was so funny.

At the parks now and heading home Thursday morning. boo...

Where did the time go? We were planning our trip just yesterday, wasn't it? Had a great time. Weather was beautiful! Cruise was smooth as can be.

Enjoyed the meet and greet so that at least when we saw people, it felt familiar.

We enjoyed the fish extenders---you are all way too creative! It was fun to find the surprises....

So, who is doing the next cruise? Thinking next Christmas ish again....

We booked the Wonder out of Galveston for 1-4-14... my kids would have to miss 2 days of school, however, so it is likely to change. Also gonna watch Mexico to make sure Cozumel does not become consumed by the country's violence...
Wish we could afford holiday rates...
Wasn't that weather the best???

We didn't make it to the meet and greet, but we did meet Dave Dizney in the Nassau taxi, which was funny.

We booked Dec 28, 2013 on the Fantasy when prices first came out. Four nights was WAY TOO SHORT for us!! Loved the weather - didn't want it to end.

I'm making a list of things I would do differently for the next cruise (I'll have it perfect by the time I turn 80 - ha). I would be curious to see what others would change.

#1 - Bring more wine onboard. We're not huge drinkers, so I figured 2 bottles would be enough. It wasn't!

#2 - Leave earlier from the hotel to get to the terminal. It took FOREVER for our shuttle to get there - too many stops. We boarded later than I thought we would.

#3 - Take less clothes. We overpacked big time.

#4 - Claim chairs on the beach BEFORE the 5K starts (and bring all our stuff). Or run on the ship and don't do the 5K. It took a long time to do the 5K, go back to the ship and get our things and get back out to the beach. Not sure its worth the hassle.

#5 - Bring an old gift card or something to put in the light switch permanently.

#6 - Have appetizers brought up to the room before dinner. The cheese/crackers/fruit tray we had with friends one night hit the spot and was great to have with our pre-dinner glass of wine.

#7 - Bring more wine onboard (oops - said that already)!!

I will be watching for deals in 2014, but we did not book on board. With the things DCL is doing right now, there is bound to be a KSF deal or something. I would love to do the 10/20/13 cruise on the Magic, but that is a bit too soon. I will keep my eye out in 2014 for a double dip cruise. I would love it if they had a cruise that just docked at CC for 7 days. :)

Yes, next time I will get off the beach early and claim our spot. I would have really liked to have a hammock.

We went to WDW before the cruise, so I used our KTTW card from there.

#7 - Bring more wine onboard (oops - said that already)!!

We did a one-way car rental from the Dolphin to the port for $43. This was much better than piling on a bus. As an added bonus, there was a liquor store right across the street from where we dropped of the car. :thumbsup2

AHHHHhhh! What a WONDERFUL trip! I can't think of anything that could have made for a better experience! The weather was so great! I'm posting a trip report, too much happened and I want to remember.

PDD has set in. I go back to work tomorrow. :(

Great to meet so many of you - and wonderful to have embarrassed myself and my wife during the Match Your Mate - but sooooo much fun!

Can't wait to read the trip report!!! The girls and I had so much fun! We are still at Disney but have to go back to reality tomorrow. We will be back at the parks in Dec and DH and I are cruising on the Wonder Feb 2014.

Hey! We left the ship and went to WDW for a couple days, then flew to Niagara Falls for a conference for a few days. We just got home, and this is my first chance to say THANKS for everybody helping make our first cruise so totally impressive!! Some of it was the ship itself, some of it was the food, some of it was the cast members, some of it was the shows and other activities (including doing 'nothing' on deck) . . . but much of it was such wonderful people that were all just interested in enjoying the trip. Thanks!!

I just got home today from 4 days at the parks. I think next time I will do the parks first because Sunday and Monday I felt a little "ill" from the boat. I felt like I was still moving all the time and felt a little queasy. I never got seasick on the boat this time, but I did after I got off the boat!! :confused3

Our family was discussing this very thing on our journey home. The after effects of dizziness hit my 17 year old particularly hard, so she is opting out of the cruise next year :( Can't imagine walking the parks with her...

We did the parks first. Although it was super crowded, I'm glad we did it that way. We got to see all the Christmas decorations and spend most of New Year's in the parks. Didn't quite make it to Midnight (DD too young to stay up that late and DW and I are too old! :)) but New Year's Eve has never been that big of a deal for me anyways. It was nice to take the cruise after the parks because the cruise is a bit more relaxing. Right now I'm going through Disney withdrawal! Can't wait until March to start planning our trip to DLR.
