Jan 15, 2016 Disney Dream

You're going to have a great time! Disney Cruises are awesome. This will be our 2nd on Disney. You'll never want to go on another cruise line again!!

1 tip I can give you is to get a cup with a lid and bring it on the cruise. There is a drink station where you can get soda, hot tea, and hot cocoa. It's great for during the day and at night too. We get insulated cups and had so many people ask us where we got them at.

Thank you that is a great tip!

You, your daughter and mine all share the same birthday! What a great birthday present for you! And great minds think a like since we are surprising our daughters. How are you telling her? We live in Florida so we are going to tell her we are going to spend a day or two at Disney in one of their hotels, but then tell her we want to take her somewhere special or to Kennedy Space Center... not too sure yet. Can't wait!!!

Since this cruise is a surprise 13th birthday present for my daughter I wanted to find a pillowcase to be signed for her birthday. Looked on etsy, Amazon and other places for pillowcases and found this site www.customizedgirl.com . They have an option to print 1 or both sides of the pillowcase and I chose 1 side and the pillowcases come in 3 colors, white, pink or blue. The company has a Disney font called Willy Wiggle, which I was so ticked pink to find!

Her pillowcase arrived today and it is really cute. Her pillow says Sweet 13 on the 1st line, her name on the 2nd line, Disney Dream on the 3rd line and her birth date on the 4th line I think she'll like it! It will be a nice surprise when it arrives in our cabin signed on our last night. It was less that $20 including shipping. And it came with a 3x5 card for $5 off my next order to share with friends and family.... so if you are interested the promo code is CG16JJ and it ends on 1/31/16. So this gives you plenty of time to order something for your family.

And if you have never had something signed before on a Disney Cruise or if this is your 1st cruise, this is an inexpensive way to get something really cool for free. All you need to do is get a large ziplock type bag, include Sharpee pens, and something you want autographed. I went to the front desk and dropped it off on our way to the lunch buffet. You get 2 options Princesses or main characters. Our last cruise we did a picture frame mat, it came back pretty cute! Someone on another board mentioning putting in some candy for the "Characters" who sign their item. I didn't do that this time, never thought of it. Now that I know I will put some thank you treats in.

While I am thinking about it, another great tip I can give 1st timers is to get a good breakfast to hold you over until lunch. Because once you board the ship your room won't be ready for you, so they'll have a huge lunch buffet set up and will tell you where it is. This saves you from spending money on lunch and being too full to eat from their buffet.

We are thinking of basically doing something similar. We also live in Florida (Orlando Area), so we are thinking of telling her we are going to lunch at the beach.

Oh, it also has to have your cabin number on it. I also signed up for the 5k at the same time. You don't have to be a super fast runner to do the 5k, you can even walk it. You get off the boat 1st and you walk down to where the 5k starts. There is no clock or chip that you have to have, just your bib number. At the end they give you a plastic 5k Castaway Cay metal which is another really cool free souvenir. If you have a child who is 12 and up they can run, but under 12 is not allowed.

Hi! We are on this Cruise. Has anyone seen anything about FE groups?

I have been thinking and thinking about doing a FEE. I can head it up but if we can since the cruise is so short can we limit the number to no more than 8 or 10 families at the most? I heard the Dream is a much bigger boat than the Magic and I spent a good couple of hours looking for cabins on our last cruise. What do you all think?

Also can I request that items be age appropriate for preteens and teen girls & boys? Our last cruise our daughter who was 11 at the time got 2 gifts that was for her age. Everything else was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Princesses. I ask for nothing big or more than a few dollars. On our last cruise I gave out a sticker from our local Surf Shop and an item or 2 for the older boys from Target's dollar section from Summer, Christmas clearance. At Walgreens I found dollar nail polish and lip balm for the girls.

So - we'd need your families names, Cabin number, family members names & ages... am I forgetting anything else? Thanks!

Any One have a good place to park that is not at the cruise terminal? I am trying to book now and since this our 1st cruise out of Port Canaveral.

We just booked this cruise as our first Disney Cruise! The dates worked perfectly...our 13 & 11 year old kids won't have to miss school; and my DH and I can celebrate our 19th anniversary on the ship!

Right now we are deciding how we are going to get from the airport to the port. We are weighing our options: renting a car vs taking a shuttle. We are planning to arrive late on Thursday. Any suggestions or insights?

Edited to add: we would also like to be in an FEE group, especially if it is a smaller group & aimed at the pre teen/teen age group.

So the people I've seen post about the Fish Extender Exchange are looking for a pre-teen/teen exchange.

I need an exchange for young children :)

So maybe we can set that up on this post, I just don't want to be in charge of it since this will be our first cruise & never participated in FE exchange before. :)

I was talking about 1 FEE group for our group to start. I was just be asking everyone to be aware of the ages of the children ages in each family so that everyone gets something that is suited for their child. Hope this clears it up for everyone.

I think everyone misunderstood me. I was talking about 1 group all together, at least in the beginning. Each family on the list adds who would like to be in the exchange and the age of each child. This is so everyone is aware of the age of each child and give something that is suitable for their age. Like on our last cruise there was a toddler, so I got him a mickey sippy cup which was something he could use and enjoy and not something that he would be too old to enjoy.

I did start a list and can add people as they would like to join.

Hi everyone, I am leaving this group because our family decided to go during thanksgiving for a longer cruise. I wish everyone a terrific time. Also you'll need someone else to set up and manage the FEE. Have a terrific time.

FEE Group

I can no longer manage the FEE Group since we are no longer on this cruise. I hope someone else will step up because it's a lot of fun. Good sailing everyone!

It is my understanding you can longer leave things to be signed. I believe this "free" souvenir became overwhelming. FYI, check to make sure....but, I believe I am correct.
