Jan 10 2014 5 Night Western Cruise on the Wonder

I have a feeling there will be a last minute deal. I keep watching and if so, I might be back joining all of you :)

the thing is - the price is pretty good right now! and the good deal was the reason my dh booked it. (then he told me he didn't book it and the price went up - but that wasn't true! lol).

questions for you experienced ones:
what is PATs? do I need to do online check in?
do you know how to book character meals / if there are any?
thanks!

I am not sure what PAT's are; were they mentioned or listed at some specific spot?

Character meal information is available both at the desk when you board and are announced in the Navigator. The character breakfast is almost always on the next to last morning.

FE's are pretty commonly seen onboard ship. A list is created with room numbers, a name (usually the screen name) and the gender and ages ONLY of any children so that the FE gifts can be age appropriate. The usual format is:

MMouse 6145 Jon DH/ Ellen DW/DS12/DS9/DD4.

Depending on the number of participants there can be more one list (usually 12-15 cabins per list) and people can elect to be on more than one list. About 30 days to departure the lists are sent to those participating so that the FE gifts can be made/bought/obtained and packed.

thanks! I think pat means port adventures or something like that!

so there is a character breakfast on 5 day cruises?? what I saw said only on 7 days. I hope there is!

we are starting our FE doc over at the fb group I posted above. we did include our kids' names - but if anyone joins who doesn't want to do so they don't have to!

are you on this cruise too? join the fb group!

We have reached the 75 day mark! Soon we will be sailing away :boat: Hope everyone was able to make all their ressies and get the PAT's that they wanted:goodvibes

this was what I was referring to when I asked about PATs. is this about check in day? I have to look and see what mine says.

You would have chosen your PAT when you completed your online check in. This is the time that you are telling DCL your family will arrive at the port for check in.

oh. I didn't complete my online check in yet! I guess I'll get working on that!

Unless things have changed recently, character breakfasts are only offered on cruises that are 7 days or longer. On our last 5 night DCL cruise they did not offer a character breakfast.

You quite probably are correct; our last 5 night cruse was back in 2011. I went back and checked the pictures and there was a character breakfast even though there wasn't one announced in the Navigator. I don't think it was a special occasion but with Disney it is more often the extra's you don't expect than than the disappointment of what you do expect but don't get.

Port Arrival Time so if your PAT could be between 12:00-12:30 or 2-2:30 or 11-11:30..

you get the idea :)

Absolutely you are correct. I have not paid attention to them being called that. We have always used Disney Transportation so we list our time consistent with our air travel arrival so that we were assured of bus space,

Doesn't ALWAYS work. Last May we flew into Galveston to board the Magic going to Barcelona. Waited almost 2 hours in the airport for what turned out to be the last bus. The usually 45 minute ride to the port took almost 3 hours due to traffic (there was a gun show and a strawberry festival...this was Texas remember) and it was stop and go for what seemd like forever. When we got to the port it seemed like everyone had there own check in space at the counter. It was a great cruise just not a great start.

Hi all, my family is so looking forward to this! My husband and I have only been on one cruise (Royal Caribbean 5 years ago) and we've never done a big vaca like this with kids. We'll have our 3 year old DD and 1 year old DS with us and we have an adjoining room with my sister's family (4 year old DD and 1 year old DS). Just joined the FB group today too!

Great! Welcome! We have a dd 3 and dd 17 mos, so that will be fun! 46 days to go!

Our cruise is 37 days away! Wow time is flying. I hope everyone is having fun with preparing. I know I'm driving myself a little batty trying to think of everything I'll need for a 6 year old and a baby!

I'm also looking forward to warmer weather...Wisconsin is supposed to be VERY chilly:crazy2: come this weekend!

Hope everyone is doing well and can't wait to meet some of you soon!
