I got a letter 2 days ago from DVC welcoming me to BWV for my upcoming trip and advising of the closure/rehab for Keister Coaster. The interesting part of the letter advised that Boardwalk Guests would be extended during the closure pool hopping privileges to....STORM ALONG BAY!!!! With shuttle service to Beach Club provided.

Anyone get such a letter too???

I've read reports from others regarding this letter. Mine arrived today -- I'm thrilled! What a neat gift from DVC! :)

I got one but with my luck the pool slide will open either the day we arrive or the day before :teeth:

read all of it. I completely glazed by the Stormalong Bay info. How cool is that!

THANKS

I called DVC this afternoon concerning the rehab of the Keister Coaster at BW during Jan. 2007. We are members but are paying cash for our visit because of my husband's work conference at Disney (Lotusphere). The slide will be closed until Jan. 23 and reopen on Jan. 24. The pool will remain open and anyone staying at the BW Inn or Villas during the rehab time can use storm along bay at the Yacht and Beach Club. You do not have to be a DVC member to pool hop. They will ask to see your room key to make sure you are staying at the BW and they may have shuttle transporation from BW to SAB. Just thought you would all appreciate an update. I called because we did not receive any letter from Disney concerning this but that is probably because we are not using our DVC points for this stay. Hope the weather is warm for great swimming!

You are SOOOOO lucky! I remember the good old Lotusphere days!!! I went to that conference from 1996 - 2002!! Boy was that FUN! Enjoy!

I was told by DVC that anyone staying at the Boardwalk could use the Beach Club Storm ALong Bay while the Keister Coaster slide is closed. I asked if you have to show your DVC card and was told just show your Boardwalk room key to show you are staying there so from that I would assume anyone at the BW Inn or Boardwalk villas. Storm along bay is our favorite pool with the ship wreck water slide, a smaller water slide for smaller kids, and the sand bottom pool. It is worth the walk to swim there if you have the opportunity to. It has never been busy this week in January at the pools as it is sometimes too cool to swim, but us northerners are used to snow so the cooler temps don't bother us. You will see lots of computer people walking around the Boarwalk/Beach Club area as Lotusphere is going on Jan.21--25, it is a computer conference put on by IBM. I have seen several different rehab dates for the BW Keister Coaster, I was told by DVC that is should reopen on the 24th, but some sites have said the 21st and others have said the 26th, so I don't know who is correct at this time, but maybe they will be done early, we can only hope.
