We might have a challenge with that (the Andersons). Our boarding time is not until 145p. If possible, pushing it back an 1/2 hr or an hr would be helpful. But if not, we would do our best to attend.

We touchdown to Orlando at 1109A. After getting luggage and getting to the shuttle, I see us leaving the airport about 1215p. An hr drive to the port puts us at about 130p.

Does my timing sound about right after we get our luggage?

Would we be able to check in early if we arrived before our prescribed boarding time?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

When we were there a few months ago they were calling open boarding around 12:15pm and I heard you could basically walk right on.

I also found the trip to be more around 40-45mins but i suppose much of that is dependent on traffic.

Great idea. We'll take the giant group photo and ones for each FE Group. Maybe a KIDS ONLY too!

Lise

My DH is a professional photograph and has volunteered to be our "unofficial" meet up photographer and get pics of the group as well as the event. He can then put it up on a private site that everyone on our cruise group can access and get the pictures from after the cruise. If that sounds ok to people.

Lise- Are you/will you also be making a fb announcement with the meet up time?

So thankful for the DIS boards. Someone asked on the main cruise board what were the good excursions in Cozumel. I had booked the off road Jade, but just read that the trip advisor reviews were horrible!

So now I have cancelled and booked a private chocolate factory tour for $10 per person. All 5 star reviews on trip advisor and DIS peeps. At first I was worried about going around in Mexico with two little ones on my own, but another Diser that I trust said she felt completely safe with her and her little 6yo. ;)

The best part of the chocolate tour is, if we end up not docking in Cozumel, I'll get the $30 back. :thumbsup2

With 2 kids, my parents and husband......at this point I just want to get to the port and get checked in. No desire to make any stops along the way.

It takes us a smidge longer to get to port... we must stop for some vanilla rum at the liquor store in route to the ship :drinking1

Yes, you may bring alcohol, beer, wine and bottled water on DCL but only in your carry on. It is to be consumed privately and you may bring bottled wine to dinner and pay a small corkage fee. If we respect the rules, we'll keep this uniquely Disney privilege.

Ok so we might be changing our travel plans. We were going to drive down a day early and stay close to the port like we did last year, but now we're entertaining flying down to Orlando and staying in Disney for a night. I am familiar with the Magical Express, but how does it work with cruises? Will it pick us up from our Disney resort and take us directly to port the day of the cruise? And then the day we get back, will it take us back to the airport? Thanks!

My husband's name is Brian and I'm Michele. Last name Reed. My e mail is michelebbc at yahoo.com. sorry I had to put my email in a little funny because the system was telling me I couldn't post an email address unless I have at least ten posts. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks:wave2:

Hi Amira,

Please tell :worship:Michael he's awesome. I'm so glad I won't have to use my Kodak Instamatic :rotfl:

I figure we can do a quick post about the Jammin' To Jamaica Meet and Greet on FB and invite folks to come to the DIS to learn more and RSVP. I'll need to give DCL a rough head count and that will be easier to do if the RSVPs are in one place. At the moment, we have 266 DIScruisers (172 FE and 94 not). It's going to be quite a Meet and Greet. I hope Michael has a wide angle camera lense!

Absolutely! Just call them (DCL) and let them know what you want to do! We're doing exactly that; getting picked up at WDW to go to the port, then after the cruise, going straight to the airport.....but I really don't want to think about "after" the cruise!:rolleyes1

Oh he's coming prepared :thumbsup2 He will have his wide angle lens and I will have my drink of the day :drinking1. Bring on the meet and greet!! party:

pirate: Aye! If you be in need of grog, make sure you fill your duffle before you board. If ye tuck it in a lubbers steamer trunk to be loaded by the sailors, the Captian's Guard are sworn to confiscate your rum as it is bound to be broken and a waste. The Captain log lists The Rules. And ye can't drink of the Captians hold of duty-free plunder 'til ye return to port.

As others have said, easy as pie...:thumbsup2

Just remember that unlike Magical Express you have to pay for cruise transfers. $35 per person, one way. Caught me by surprise the first time I booked them...

but I loved using the transfers. We took them from the airport to port and back. Doing it again in Aug. The ease of it all really puts me in that vacation mood :cloud9:

I'm on the 11am tour and yes, reviews are truly helpful. I'm usually really great about reading trip advisor. So the fact that I didn't and just happen to read the DIS..thank goodness.
