My kids have never been to Universal:confused3

What? Seriously? It is one of my/children's favorite places to go to. I would only recommend it though if you stay at one of their hotels (Our favorite of their hotels is the Hard Rock Hotel) when you stay at one of their hotels they give you an express pass to Cut in line for the rides. And it opens up the Harry Potter ride one hour earlier so you can avoid all the crowds

We took a vote for this summer. We were headed to the Philippines first, but we couldn't all get on a flight straight there. So, two of us voted Thailand and the others voted Singapore. We will head the the Universal there (for the fist time) I didn't stay at the hotels there, but I did buy a fastpass for every ride. It was costly, but I have read it was worth it.

If they enjoy it, maybe we will start going to the one in Fl. The only unfair part is that we will be headed there on a Friday we get in THursday morning at midnight. Our bodies may not be adjusted to the time difference, so it might not get a fair shake.

In September we will be headed to universal and Disney this year. But I really wish we were going to Singapore.

My kids might be more excited to go to Universal and Disney instead of these crazy oversea trips.

I was so excited the other day, I booked the Valentine's Cruise through United so I could get the miles. They offer 8 miles per dollar for cruises. The Valentine's one just hit (it takes 6-8 weeks) and I already have a roundtrip ticket to Asia.:cool1: After using all my miles 325k for this summer trip I thought it would take forever to get back there.

All I have to do is go on more cruises. :thumbsup2 I don't even fly United ever to go over seas, I usually fly American or Southwest. Every so often Delta, but I don't really like their milage program, so I try to avoid them when possible. Hopefully, if I go on the other Disney cruises, I will have enough miles to hit Shanghai Disney in 2016 and Thailand and if we like the other parks, go back to one of those.

Just what I needed, more incentive to go on cruises:rotfl2:

Do you pull your kids out of school for these trips?

Maybe one or two days tops. This year first week of sept no school on Monday and Thursday . We go on Thursday early in the am we do two days in universal then one or two days in Disney. We live about 2 and 1/2 hours away. At Disney I only want to check out the new area I can only do so much Disney, except Disney cruises I can stay for weeks love it!!

Oh that is nice about the first week of Sept!! Last year, Nico had a week off in February. It completely threw me off because unlike the girls, the virtual school schedule doesn't come out until the start of school. He ended up just working through it and finished 3 weeks before school was suppose to end. That was so nice :)

My kids (virtual or regular) go back the first week of August. Julie will be fine because she will be virtual schooling, but I have always just pulled my kids. I always get the schedule figure those are suggestions for when your kid should be there.:rolleyes1

Where are you going before this cruise for vacation?

I haven't had anyone surprise me either, but honestly, unless the person completely gets me, I don't want them to try.

Not sure a couple visits to DL. I want to sit in Carsland and eat food out of a cone. Last time we didn't have time to sit.
Then I want to ride Radiator Springs Racers about 20x :car:

Hi I will be cruising on this cruise. It will be our first. My husband, myself, and my son who will be a year old. Also they brother will be getting married on the cruise so other family members will be on the ship as well. We would love to participate in the FE.

:welcome: Andrea & Randy and kiddo :welcome:

Our 2009 cruise was for my BFF's wedding. It was perfect!

I'll add you to first post on the FE list and include Randy's bday to the Celebrations list.

I'm headed there late Sept with Nico. I wish I was taking Sam too because she has been asking to go. But she is already missing 10 days of school that are vacation days, so I am not sure about taking her out for another 3. Julie might be on to something here. Maybe they would all get more vacations if they would home school.:rotfl:

How about writing a few papers for school while on the trip... "The History of Radiator Springs" (Cars Land), "Gravity and Elevator Mechanics..why only movie elevators can fall" (the Tower of Terror) and "The Sights and Scents of California" (Soaring).

There's loads of good materials in California Adventure. Maybe bring back a Mickey Sourdough to seal the deal with the Principle and staff :rotfl2:

I am taking him to Disneyland for these classes. There is a California class that I could sign Sam or Julie up for, but the school system here doesn't excuse life changing or other learning excursions. If they did, I would have taken them to China this past April instead of waiting until June.;)

One time I wrote an excuse note that said:

Please excuse Samantha, Julie, and Nico for being absent the week of Jan 10-17th. They had a bad case of Disneyistis and needed a week to heal.

Thank you

If you are wondering, yes they were all excused.:lmao:

I like your idea to, think you can come up with some for the Disney cruise.

Cruise would be easy with all the countries we visit. Mayan Ruins (although I don't remember if this cruise goes there) I think I go there with Sam. History and culture of Jamaica. Lise has better headings, so I would have her name the papers.;)

If you are doing Disney, Nico wrote a report about Sum of All Thrills. Building your own roller coaster and riding it was awesome to the teachers that had never heard of it. Samantha's favorite ride

I'm sure there is a book report on Harry Potter ride for Universal.

Hi! My husband & I are booking this cruise on Friday. We'll be in a 00V room but as we haven't booked yet, not sure of the room number. (We did a port upgrade this past Sept & now my husband only wants to cruise that way - so I'm looking forward to the extra perks with the 120 day planning this time around.

:welcome: Dis_Yoda :welcome:

This is going to be a great cruise ... hope your port upgrade is magic pixiedust:

I've added you to the first post! Any celebrations? Do you know if you want to join the FE?
