Your dues are going to depend on your amount of points and the resort you own at. I pay $103 a month in my dues for 220 points at AKV.

I would need about 220-250 points. I didn't realize you could pay the dues monthly. That sounds a lot more reasonable than $1236 a year or at once.

Hi just want to add that im really happy with the kids thread. Im glad the girls are getting to know each other. :thumbsup2

I was worried because Julie was the youngest on the thread, but it has turned out awesome!! Your daughters have been very patient with her and she feels really welcome. :goodvibes

Sabrina is really enjoying getting to know everyone. I think they're all looking forward to getting together... I see they're working on a KIDS cruse meet :cool1:

As it gets closer, maybe more kids will join as well. It could be most people haven't figured out their Aug/Sept 2014;)

This is actually the first time I've planned a cruise over a year in advance. We're usually planning in about 6 to 9 months.

I'm sure more are waiting on that too.

Although, historically, I think cruises around this time are lower occupancy than other times of the year. When we did our cruise last year (it was the 2nd week of September) it wasn't too bad for crowds on the ship. When we did the Dream, it was way more crowded.

I hope the ship isn't at capacity!! I love smaller groups overall. I am different because I know 2015 Christmas we are headed to Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia. So, I guess I'm one of the few that over plans ;)

We are still pretty early. On the DCL Pixar California Coast cruise we had people joining the cruise a couple weeks before we sailed. Also some didn't discover the DIS until the last minute. :disrocks:

We've never planned this far out... but with it being our 20th Anniversary, I knew we would be aboard a Disney Cruise somewhere on 9/4. :dance3:

Overplanning isn't bad! I wish I could do that but with our careers that far isn't possible, even this is going to be a bit odd but I know its slow enough we won't have issues to take it off.

I wish I could do vacations over Thanksgiving or Christmas, but my husband is in retail management & we live in a very seasonal town now, so vacations from middle of October to end of January are just a no-go. I work in engineering for a manufacturing environment & know I have to avoid the very last week of the month from now on for vacations, luckily, we tend to shy away from that week of the month. Also, without children, I don't have to worry about taking off the highly requested times off work as we tend to go places when school is in session.

Thats a great reason to book this early!

I would love not to go over Christmas! I think my ideal time of year would be late Sept/early Oct the start of spring. However, Samantha is planning on going to brick and mortar through 5th grade and that is the start of her year. The school district tends to frown on pulling kids out for 3-4 weeks.

Maybe she will see how many times her brother and sister head to Disney youth classes and realize she is missing out. However, I tend to believe kids will excel if they are where they want to be. So if she wants to stay brick and mortar, I won't push, even if it is better for my vacation:laughing:

I also have never booked this early either. I love going on cruises in September except for hurricanes of course but that's what we have travel insurance for. I work in the ER it's harder for me to get summer off. I have a question and I can't remember if we discussed it but what travel insurance does everybody use? I have aways bought the one Disney offers.

I would like to say hello to everyone.
My family will be on the 8/30 cruise to Jamaica.

In the past I have organized the FE list, group meet, and the T-Shirts.

I would love to hear from everyone if they would like custom made T-Shirts.
Thanks.

I am creating a Facebook Page for this cruise BTW...

Welcome to our group!! It should be a fun trip:banana:

I might do T-shirts. At least one for my 11yo since that seems to be her wardrobe most of the time.

I design a totally unique and custom t-shirt for us. Then we take the orders for the t-shirts and put it all together. I also do magnets. I will give everyone the link to my last cruise so that they can see the stuff I designed.

Welcome TECHJPM!

maiyoli - Honestly, we haven't bought travel insurance even though we travel in Hurricane Season. We aren't flying & we don't really care if they end up changing the ship's course on us because of a hurricane. Disney will refund if the cruise gets cancelled.

In other news, we close on our house in Naples on Friday. Fun weekend of moving ahead!

I think we did a while back. I use travelex for almost all of the trips I take. The key for me is to look for a reputable company that people have had good experience with. Some of the less expensive ones when you research aren't as great when people send in claims.
