This forum was sent to me by a friend and all I can say is WOW! I didn't realise I had a following either! I am very humbled and honoured to be part of your magical memories #SERIOUSLY!

Sadly, it is true I have left DCL!
I loved my time onboard but, after five years of working I simply was not progressing or supported by my leaders.
I wasn't going to air my reasons so publicly but, it's only fair that people know my truth as I know the story getting told is 'that I simply decided to move on' when that is not the case.

I loved Disney and I loved my job however, I would get negative comments from some guests complaining about my sexuality. I would get scrutinised by certain leaders onboard constantly and told to change, tone down and act less gay! I would get so many positive comments from guests but, unfortunately leaders only take note of the negative ones that were derogatory comments regarding my sexuality and flamboyant personality. (So unless a crew member on any ship has done something to really upset you-don't write a negative comment about them because it really can affect their career). I've had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people and leaders who did support me however, I did not feel valued by most of my cruise directors and assistant cruise directors and this was apparent when they demoted me from the club host role and encouraged to resign! I went back for another contract in a demoted role as I loved the job and was not ready to leave DCL. However, I had to lie to guests when they asked why I wasn't club host anymore and in the end it wasn't doing me any good emotionally and I couldn't stay in an environment where I was made to feel ashamed of being myself.
So I made the difficult decision to resign before I was pushed out.

I have had offers from other cruise lines and airlines so currently deciding what's best for me right now wether it be continue cruising or try something new.
Flight attendant is something I have always wanted to try but cruising, entertainment and making people laugh is my passion so I'll keep y'all updated on what I decide.
All I can do is take the path that lets me grow as a person and professional but, somewhere I can still inspire others with my individuality and ultimately be myself.

The love from you all and your acceptance of my brand means more to me than you'll ever know. It's always my goal to make sure everyone is having fun and try to get everyone involved. I am always my myself and I'm so happy that the majority of you have appreciated my personality and efforts to provide a genuine, entertainment experience that comes from my heart and not a 'forced' place.e

I still plan to cruise and go Disney Word as a guest so please-if you ever see me give me a 'Hey gurl hey' or a 'toodles y'all.'
I will always be a Disney boy at heart and I will always have time to stop and say hello to all my previous guests. You all made the experience just as magical for me and after reading these lovely messages it really has given me my confidnece back and gives me the motivation to continue. THANK YOU! <3

Hey.

Yes, it is true I can't deny that I can be very annoying.
However, I'm also a very genuine person who generally tries to be an inspiration to others by being nice and kind to everyone.

I'm very proud of who I am and the work I did for Disney Cruise Lines for the past five years. My personality is my personality and I wouldn't be much of an entertainer if I was 'normal' or 'bland' so I am myself and generally it seems to be liked by most.

I adored doing the presentations it truly was one of my favourite things to host. I had a great relationship with the DVC guides and reps and we had a lot of fun performing the show together.
Don't worry Hawaii is still on my bucket list ;-) lol

Yeah, 5 years is a long time. It was a wonderful career but, sadly not meant to be. I'm just glad you enjoyed my work-it makes it all worth it x

Sadly, it is true I have left DCL!
I loved my time onboard but, after Five years of working Onboard I simply was not progressing.
My personality was not understood by everyone and ultimately prevented my growth within the company! Ultimately it was a choice of staying in the same position forever or venturing out and finding something new. In life I guess you gotta move up or move on so I have taken that quote quite #literally and accepted a position as a flight attendant on an airline.
It's something I have always wanted to try and maybe I will return to cruises in the future as I can't see myself staying out of entertainment for too long. But, for now I'm going to try this different adventure and hopefully continue to grow as a person and a professional.

The love from you all and your acceptance of my brand means more to me than you'll ever know.
I have made plans to cruise regularly as a guest so please still come and give me a 'Hey gurl hey' or a 'toodles y'all' If you ever see me on a ship again. I will always be a Disney boy at heart and I will always have time to stop and say hello to you.

My family and I totally loved you. We were at the EBTA in May and have an amazing time with you. Knowing that you left DCL is very sad, but we are happy that you have something better for you.

You have and awesome personality and a very bright future
