The Plan

Islands of Adventure and evening meal on Citywalk.

The Reality

Everything went to plan and we arrived at IOA early and rode Hulk five times before doing the rest of the park. This is the most modern park in the area and it shows. Every area has it’s own theme and there is a wide range of Universal characters on show. Although Merlin was getting fed up of being called Gandalf. The lockers that work on fingerprints are a good idea but a few rules need to be adhered to.
1. Remember which finger you used for the fingerprint.
2. Remember which hand that finger was on.
3. Remember which member of your group used their finger to open the locker.
4. If you put all your money in the locker remember to go back before the free time runs out.

We spent a lot of time in the Universal parks waiting for people to open their lockers.

We managed to do the whole park by mid afternoon so went to Universal to ride the Mummy Returns. After two laps of City Walk we decided on the Latin Quarter and although the food was very nice the waiter was very rude and this was the only place other than the car hire that we didn’t leave a tip. On leaving the parking lot we got hopelessly lost fortunately it was the only time it happened this holiday.

I always think that they need another finger scan and I am doing it always WRONG.........thanks for the day

I love IoA. Did you try Dr Doom, it is the only ride we have not been on, yet!

Hi, I'm James's sister, Kylie. I've left all the reports to him, but thought I'd reply to your post.

Dr Doom is a fantastic ride, I hate rides like that but due to the fact that james wanted to go on it I had no choice!! But I rode it once and then had four follow up rides, and loved them all!!! :cool1:

Thanks Kylie. We are definitely going to try it this year. Personally I don't like the thought of leaving your seat when you reach the top (watched a video of the ride) but I am willing to try anything once.

Leaving your seat at the top is the best bit, and if you can manage it, have your eyes open at the top and you'll be amazed how many shoes there are on top of the surrounding buildings!!!! :rotfl2:
