Great pictures SeaSpray!! Thanks!! We're going in less than 8 weeks now!!

Seaspray your pictures are so vivid. It really made me feel like I was there . Great job!

Terry (SeaSpray) your photo's are wonderful, as usual :) I feel like I just had a mini vacation. I am so glad you and your DH had a wonderful time. So now you want to go back after your cruise. :rolleyes1 It is such a wonderful resort and easy to fall in love with.

You ask if there was a room configuration of two queens with a daybed. I am sorry I don't personally know. I have heard they have rooms with two queens, but I don't think the standard rooms have a daybed. I know the concierge rooms have a daybed with the King. That is were we have always stayed. :cloud9: There should be enough room in a concierge level room for two queens and a daybed. If I were you I'd try calling again. Hopefully you will get a nicer CM.

You were taking your laptop with you on this trip. How did you like the internet system hookup they had? Was it WIFI? Was it available in your room?

Thank you so much for shareing your trip report and photos.

Catching up after a few days. My birthday was on Tuesday and for birthday present this year I booked myself a solo trip to the world for the end of September. I wish I was staying at AKL, but it will be at CBR unless some great AP rates come out for AKL. Of course I will be religously visiting AKL for zebra domes as I will be on the free dining plan :teeth:

Kimmar :cheer2: :cheer2: Your ticker is back!! How are your trip plans coming along?
wendypooh If you can convince your DH Kona is one of my new favorites I'm sure you would enjoy it.
SeaSpray I love your live TR and your pictures are awesome. I wish I wa there now
stephwynnYou have gotten some great advice...although I know I'm in the minority here, but I think I liked the foodcourt at CBR better than the one at AKL minus the Zebra Domes of course. I think for some reason CBR had a much bigger grab and go area and a larger bakery area.
ktinkFor me Kona was a huge suprise last fall. I thought I would give it a try because I had heard good things about and SeaSpray provided an awesome review last summer Here (Post number 21). Lo and Behold it is now a must do for me.
Andiloo Have a great trip :thumbsup2
Angel16 Glad to hear another Kona fan on the thread. I really liked the kiddie kone as well.
tinknme You will have to tell us how you like the 20 set dvd
dm220 The shelves in the fridge are adjustable. So you could remove them to fit a 2 liter bottle in there if you would like.

Anyone going to the AKL soon: I have a question for a bartender at the Uzima Springs Pool Bar. If anyone would like to help me with this, please PM me. TIA

Kathy

Thanks everyone for the nice comments :teeth: I'm glad you are all enjoying my pictures. I just can't believe that my AKL trip is here and gone already! :confused3 But at least I have the pictures to remind me :sunny:

Can I be an honorary member of the 'Jambo Wild Bunch' now?!?!? :goodvibes :teeth:

Angel: There is a LAN cable in the closet, for internet access. There is no wifi at AKL as of this time. The cost is $9.95 for each 24 hour period. The internet connection was ok the first day, but during that weekend it was horrible. Even a simple email program took several minutes for the page to download. By Monday evening it improved, but I still wouldn't call it "high speed" by any means. lol Strangely enough, the pages that loaded the fastest for me were the DIS boards. LOL Poor DH, couldn't do much work while we were away, and that was the whole reason for him taking the laptop in the first place. From what I heard, the internet connection is usually better than what we experienced, so I hope you have faster loading times than we did. :)

Terry ~

Thanks again for sharing those great pix with us.....now I REALLY am 'homesick' for AKL... :rolleyes2 ...BTW, I had a chance to check out your food pix.....AWESOME!!!

Lisa ~
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY...woohoo!! :woohoo: party:

Lisa, Thanks for the link of Seaspray's review on Kona.

Terry, thanks for that review. :goodvibes

So now I have a question, we really love O'hana and I don't think I can give that up but I am going to try Kona. I'm also trying LeCellier for the first time and don't want to give that up.. Would you all cancel ADR for Coral Reef or Whispering Canyon for Kona or would you break down and cancel O'hana? :confused3 We're also trying Coral Reef and Whispering Canyon for the first time. But if ya'll are sure I won't miss O'hana I'll do it. Thanks

Terry ~

Whew! Looking at this, makes me feel stuffed..... :rolleyes1 ........:rotfl:

Happy, Happy Birthday Lisa

:bday: party: :rockband: :dancer:

What a gal! Booking a birthday trip for yourself. I certainly like that idea.
I hope your party continues through this weekend. Then do a replay in September. :cloud9: Certainly would work for me. :)

First, I love your user name! So cute :tink: I was looking at your signiture line and you have two children under the age of 11. I would not give up the O'hana ADR at all. You kids will love it and the last time we were there the food was good. So here is my question. If you and your children love the ocean I would keep Coral Reef and drop Whispering Canyon. Coral Reef is so beautiful and children love seeing all the sea life. The food was exceptional last October. However, I recently did notice that they have changed their menu and do not have the filet or lobster. It could be available, just not listed. :confused3 IMHO there is enough noise and activity going on at WDW that I don't think I would enjoy Whispering Canyon. Just my thoughts, I have never gone, but it does not appeal to either my DH or myself. Now if you were doing Artist Point....I would say make sure you go.

The food at Kona is very, very good. Their presentation is beautiful. The staff enteracts with children during the meal. And as I said before. Make sure someone orders the Kiddie Cone :earboy2:

Hope this helps a little.

Terry - Thank you for the information on the internet. I am seriously considering doing a "Live from The Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Boardwalk Inn" post. :smickey: So your information will help.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Angel

Thanks I figured I need something big to celebrate a quarter century :lmao:

Happy Birthday! Sounds like a great present is on the way this fall!

Okay, I have to admit that I thought some of you "Wild Bunch" were just a little crazy and a little too obsessed with AKL. I just returned yesterday from a 4 day trip and my first time at AKL. And all I have to say is . . .

. . . Hello, my name is pixiesnake, and I'm in LOVE with the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

I loved everything about it and am now wondering how I will ever be able to stay anywhere else. I have a trip planned to WDW in September and will be staying with friends at POP. AKL is not in the budget for them - how will I ever survive? I am now trying to convince my husband to take me there for an anniversary weekend (we are only 2 hours away). He was not on this trip and I keep trying to explain how wonderful the place is. I have 3 months to convince him. I am now truly obsessed with AKL - it's all I could think about today.

Thanks to all on this thread for the good info before my trip. I will continue to come here as often as possible to dream about AKL. I will try to post some of my pictures as soon as I figure out how to do it.
