Hello Everyone!

Well I'm soooo excited, we leave for WDW tomorrow!!! I have a vacation day today and have been packing a little at a time in between Dis'ing & checking emails. I'm starting to get butterflys in my stomach thinking about boarding my dog this evening. It will be so weird coming back home and not having her here. We used to have a neighbor come in and take care of her in the past, but unfortunately our dear neighbor past away from pancreas cancer last year. So we will be boarding Veda at her vet clinic that is also a boarding facility. I know she will be fine as her vet will be there if anything should happen, and who better to take care of her, right?! I'm just a nervous nelly, and she is like my 12 1/2-year old kid. I guess in a sense I know what it feels like when parents decide to leave their kids with family to travel and take a break. I know once I get to WDW & AKL all will be fine. I am so excited about staying there for the first time!!!

It might appear to be an exciting life, but from my point of view -- it seems quite hectic now. I think it is because of quitting my current job; getting ready to move to a different city; start a new job; and try to get some sense of normal back to my life.

I will say that two fantastic trips one to WDW and the other to the Middle East was great. They were both trips of a life time.

Just keep me and my wife in your thoughts.

I completely understand! We've always had someone house sit, but could find no one this time. We are also using the vet's boarding facilities. Dh is more nervous than me, lol.

Thanks so much for your kinds words. We dropped her off at 5:30 this evening and I cried, just a little. I know she's in good hands, heck if the local Sheriff's Department can have their K-9's cared for and boarded there then I know their good!

Thanks so much! Your right, both of our dogs will be fine at their vets. Who better to care for them than the people who care for them!

Well this will be my last post before I leave tomorrow morning. We have a 4:00 a.m. pick-up, with a 30 minute ride to the airport. Our flight leaves at 6:00 a.m., connecting in Atlanta and then arriving at MCO at 1:20 p.m. We cannot wait to see the AKL, especially that enormous lobby that I've seen so many photos of! Have a great weekend and next week everyone and I will post when I return 12/8.

I have not read anything about the construction at AKL recently (but I also was not the boards - things got too hectic at work). So what is the situation with construction right now? Does it affect any of the views? Thanks!!!

I haven't seen too many posts about construction at AKL recently. I think that most of the construction these days is on the new building.

We are leaving on Monday...a school day...soooo, I am going to wake him up and tell him that Daddy wants to play hookie and go to a huge before Christmas sale (early bird, like Black Friday--which, btw, my son LOVES!) at Gander Mt. (they are outdoor boys, LOVE this store). He will be excited to do this. Then we are going to get him in the car and just keep driving. When he figures it out...the jig is up!

He is going to be floored!!

We're prepping our "great reveal", too.;

We're leaving Jan 3rd. We're picking our daughter up a bit early from school...popping a DVD into the car DVD player that will basically tell the kids: "We're going to Disneyworld!".

They'll have no clue until then.

...instead of playing a DVD that specifically SAYS that you are going to WDW, why not play some Disney movies instead? After the 2nd or 3rd one, they might start to get the hint - THEN pop in the 'message' one...
