Hey Everybody!!!!! Glad to see the thread back! I've only got 81 days till I'm "HOME" ~ I can hardly wait!!!

Gonna check out Kidani while we are there.......... we are "probably" going to go ahead and buy!!!

We've got both the point and shoot and our NIKON SLR ready to take construction shots in early January.

I'll post them either when we get back or...maybe...while we're there. I'm seriously thinking about springing for net access for the whole trip.

Hi All!! Just back from AKL. We had a great trip. Everything was perfect at AKL, from Check-In, mousekeeping, the view from our balcony (we had Kudo Trail, Arusha Savanna). The pool was great and my DD's loved the slide. One day we heard some construction noises, but honestly, if I didn't know that there was construction going on I would have thought the noise was something else. The buses were fantastic! We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for anything leaving or returning (we must have timed it pretty good!)

The only thing that was bad was that we didn't have enough time to enjoy all that AKL offers! I guess we will have to go back !

Thanks for all the great tips we learned from this thread. You guys are great! I have pictures if anyone wants to see them. We just got home, so I'll get the pics ready later today or tomorrow.

Going to AKL for the first time next May. I had asked this somewhere else but did not g et an answer. What exactly are zebra domes made of?Are they cakes? Soft like jello? Can't wait to try them.

More like mousse on top of cake.

It's a chocolate mocha/Kahlua mousse "dome" on top of a round piece of sponge cake drizzled with black and white chocolate ganache.

My peanut butter toast I'm munching on for breakfast tasted pretty good until I was reminded of exactly what a zebra dome is like. Now all I want is a zebra dome!!!

DH just recently got a new Canon EOS 40D - so we'll be posting pics from early Feb.!!! I cannot wait to get there!!!!! 80 days and counting!!


Also, it's really good to see all the "old" gang back here!!!

Really glad I was able to help out. And REALLY glad you guys are going to be our "neighbors"!

We just bought a new digital SLR, too. My wife loves it (camera's are her thing...she's a former pro photog). I'm sure it will be put through it's paces (while I use our old Nikon point and shoot) for our trip, and I'll try to post as may pics as possible.

Great to hear that you had a good trip! I totally understand the problem with AKL: you need to return to get to really enjoy the resort, that's what I am doing in February...

And of course: We would LOVE to see your pictures!!!!

Hi Wendypooh! Only 76 more day for me! I wish it would make sense for me to buy into AKV as well! It's the first DVC property I am interested in.

Man, I wish I had the time to go back and read this thread!!! But I don't. Anyway, I was just looking at the last few pages and it looks like there may be a few camera experts on here. (By the way, we'll be at AKL 12/14). My husband is going to get me a new camera for my b'day next week. I've always wanted the Canon Rebel SLR Digital (or something like that). I've got a Fuji Finepix now. Would someone please recommend a good camera? It's overwhelming!!! He said there's the regular and professional. As you can see, I don't have a clue. Any help would be great!!!
