No. There are warnings that cameras are observing the balconies and animal areas and that, if you want privacy, to close your drapes.

I'd also add that, considering animal watching is a pretty big part of the resort, and many guests bring binoculars, etc....it's not a bad idea ANYWAY. Someone out on their balcony, trying to get a good look at that zebra 1/2 way across the savannah, might see a bit more than they bargained for, otherwise.

:)

Good Point :goodvibes

Hi AKL lovers! We're planning our first AKL stay for next summer for a couple of nights prior to a DCL cruise. I was hoping to book a Sunrise Safari but haven't been able to find any new info on the boards since Tusker House will be changing to a character breakfast. Can anybody help me with updated info about where the breakfast will be after the safari? Maybe they'll keep it at TH and just make it a character breakfast? :confused3 TIA for your help!

We were just there this weekend, and the breakfast after the Sunrise Safari was in a private room at Pizzafari. I don't know if that's where they're planning on keeping it, but I would assume so. The food was great, by the way.

Thanx! I wonder if this is permanent...Good to know the food was great-that's the important thing! :thumbsup2

Sorry I was MIA on the pretzels/strawberry questions. We ordered our arrangement through the concierge. They have a flip book up in the lounge (at their desks) that you can ask to look at that has pictures of special arrangements that private dining does.

If you are not staying concierge, you can call private dining from your room and arrange to have one sent up (it may even be listed as an option in the private dining guide(aka room service menu). I know they needed 48 hours advance notice.

As far as cost. It was way pricey. I know it was above $50 but I do not want to venture any more of a guess on the price until I find my check out papers because I don't want to mislead anyone. I will try and dig those out and get back to you on that.

Everything you see on the arrangement was edible. The giraffes, the pretzels (a HUGE hit with my boys), the strawberries (of course ;) ), the AKL sign, even the sign holder was made of chocolate. The only thing you could not eat was the board it came on.

I don't know that it was worth what it cost from a "food price" perspective however, I do know that it was worth it from the happiness perspective. My entire family loved it.

They had other edible creations available. Hope that helps! :)

Is it true that when checking in they tell you not to change your clothes in the room but rather the bathroom. Someone told me that they tell you this, because there are so many cameras pointed at the rooms to make sure noone throws anything at the animals. Just wondering....:rotfl:

...:scratchin gee, I never really thought about that, but, hey :confused3 we always change in the bathroom after we are done showering, washing up, etc...

And adding a pic while I'm at it!

Anyone know of a good place to buy bincolars that are decent but not too expensive?
