Jambo!! I come bearing the first of many (unless you tell me to stop ) pictures from our 9/1-9/9 stay at AKL.

More, more, more pictures PLEASE - we are on AKL over load with excitement for our trip!

Were you on club level? Some one posted a picture of a cookie tray that was waiting for them in their room at AKL and I was wondering if this is the norm for club level? The tray had cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and a beautiful chocolate stand up sign that read AKL- yummy - gotta love that chocolate!

OK- you all know our story- we are staying on club level for the first time ever- the robes in the rooms- are they for keeps or just on loan - at first thought- wearing someone else's robe skeeved me out, but on second thought.......... Do you know where that towel has been?!

I know a silly question but if they have the AKL logo and are for keeps we will be happy to keep them- our 11 and 13 year olds would be thrilled to have them! Anyway,... TIA for the information- I wouldn't want to keep something that isn't mine!

They are on loan.

To help you with the "skeeviness" factor....I know the laundry procedures Disney uses on both towels AND robes. Trust me, nothing is "living" through them. They use more bleach, at higher temps, than any organism could possibly survive....they're practically sterilization procedures equal to the ones used in Central Sterile Supply at the hospital I work at.

If you really want a robe to take home for a souvenir, they do sell them in the Zawadi Marketplace.

Thanks for the terrific pics. We are 29 days out from our first stay at AKL ~ Savannah View, & I'm sooo excited!! Did you see lots of giraffes & zebras from your room?

TONS!! And lots of other animals that I cannot name without the animal ID chart!! It was wonderful!! All of the following pictures were taken during our first hour and a half at the resort from our balcony.

These next pictures were taken while on the Wanyama sunset safari on the lodge's savannas. I think this was worth every penny we paid!! If you have the oppurtunity...don't miss this!

Sorry some of the photos are sideways. I rotated them at photobucket but they still come out facing the wrong way. ???

We didn't get that however we had a bag of goodies they presented us with upon check in.

Here's a picture I snapped of what was inside. We actually had another pen and pencil but one of my boys had run off with it by the picture taking!

Yes they do and the ones in the Zawadi Marketplace are nicer then the ones in the room. They are nicer because they have the AKL logo on them and the ones in the room didn't and they also are a lot thicker and fluffier.

Don't mind a bit, it's Henry Jacob. We went through a MILLION middle names before we decided on Jacob! It was almost Henry Michael.

Thanks for the info- I thought they were just loaners- I'm glad to hear that WDW bleaches everything to death- I laughed when I thought -why am I worried about the robes- I use the wash cloths and heaven knows where those have traveled ! Anyway, I'm pooh sized and the robes probably won't fit me right but I thought the boys might get a kick out of them- I might just look into buying some if they are nice enough.-

Oh-jaycns -...I'll take the goodie bag that you got any time! I love those- my middle son is diabetic type 1, the pencils/pens would be so much better for our family then the sweet treats! Too cool- I'm just so excited- I hate waiting and waiting , the you go and come back and it seems to be over so fast!

I just joined the discussion forum and found this thread. I am enjoying reading everyones postings and seeing the wonderful photos. We are planning our 2nd WDW vacation for June 2008 at the AKL. Our last trip we stayed at the All Star Movies and while we enjoyed our trip the room was a bit cramped. My DH is a big man and the double bed was a little small for us. We are hoping the queen size at AKL will be a better fit. We have a pool view with bunkbeds. I have 13 yr. old twin boys so the bunks were a wonderful option. I was wondering how the room sizes at AKL compare to the ones at the value resorts? Am hoping they are a little bigger.
