Yes.

Mara (the counter service restaurant) has a limited selection of both.

In addition, Zawadi marketplace (the gift shop in the lobby) has recently installed coolers with milk, juice, etc...they did this mainly to cater to the new DVC members who have bought into AKV (since the DVC 1BR and larger have full kitchens in them). Their selection, reportedly, is pretty good.

I have been reading about folks requesting rooms and some rooms not being too favorable i.e. near the entrance hearing cars etc. Can anyone give me some advice on a room request? We are arriving on Sat and have a pool room with bunkbeds reserved. We have never been to the resort and are having a hard time visualizing the layout. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you have a pool view room, you're likely not going to hear much in the way of cars. You'll not share any walls with the parking lot or the "traffic" side of the resort.

If you want to be well within the interior of the resort, request Zebra Trail.

It'll be my first stay at AKL (and my first DELUXE stay in general ) and my friend's second.

The only 2008 free dining offer available now is the Bounceback - currently being offered to those staying on-site (available until 9/28/2007). It covers a much shorter time span in 2008 than it did in 2006 or this year (August 2008, but I don't remember the exact dates).

Based on the fact that they're doing the Bounceback again, many of us are assuming that Free Dining will be offered to the general public - but I doubt they'll offer it before mid-2008.

If you're a guest at a WDW resort now, or will be in the next 10 days, book the Bounceback! Otherwise, we have to wait!

That's what I thought, but those last two posts had me a little worried that maybe I'd missed something. Big. We're going no matter what, but we're certainly up for some free food if we can get it!

Ok...so, question.

We're going to book a Standard room and maybe try for an upgrade at check-in. We aren't expecting it at all and we're happy to just be there...it's just a little wish in the back of our minds.

If, however, we're just in the Standard room, what's the best "area" to request?

We were at BWI last week and booked the bounce back with free dining for Sept. 08 at AKL. It's been a while since we stayed there, so we went over to AKL during our stay and decided it's where we want to be next year.

I wouldn't have known about the offer if I hadn't gone up to the front desk one day to ask for change. I saw the flyer and asked if it was the bounce back offer with free dining. CM said she didn't know and handed it to me and said "read it, maybe it will tell you". Thank goodness I needed change for the laundry or I would have come home and found out it was too late to book. I'm sure they will be offering it again to the public, but it was great to be able to book it so early.

Thank you! He is wearing his little Mickey Mouse hooded sweatshirt jacket. He was a bit fussy in the pic, I'll have to get a happy one next time he wears it. The hood has little ears on it, and the pants that match (which he isn't wearing in the pic) have little Mickey faces on the feet. It's ridicliously adorable.

You won't be able to tack it on. You WILL (assuming availability) be able to rebook with the free dining.

Booking now ensures you have a room, no matter what. Then rebook when the free dining promo is released. If they don't have inventory for free dining for your room type..you have to decide which you want more: Free dining or the type of room you first booked. Functionally, it's almost the same thing, since they'll just apply your deposit to the new ressie, but you will get a new confirmation number, etc.

OH, one thing to note: Free dining means you have to pay rack rate for your room. Keep that in mind, along with the changes to the DDP this year, to make sure any discount you could get on your room rate, but won't, is "worth" the free dining!
