We were so happy that we asked to get an appt to go to the models for the AKV through DVC at the SSR. We loved it. THe model rooms were so nice! We got the ball rolling as soon as we got home and now we are on our way to being first time Disney Vacation Club members for AKV. I am SOOOOOO excited


I'm really new to Disney and the DVC. When will AKL DVC be available? Are people buying now?

The AKV will be opening in stages starting this year and completing in '09. Yes, people have started to buy there.

That's great! I hope you have a great trip. My kids just loved the resort. We've been home since Monday and I am already going through Disney withdrawl. The kids keep asking "Mom, when are we going back??" They are just as anxious as I am.

Thanks! It won't be long for you now. I remember being about a month out and then all the sudden it was here. I was so busy getting everything ready that the time went by fast. Have a wonderful trip!

Yes, I think they told us that they started selling in February or March? I was half asleep as it was early in the morning and on our last day. We had already spent 6 full days and nights at the parks with our three boys!

Well, for the future, it'll probably be AKL (or, rather, AKV) for awhile...though we might sample some of the other DVC resorts (the Contemp Villas, if they ever happen, for example) too.

But, by the same token, I've stayed at lots of them:

AKL
All Star Music
CBR
CSR
The Contemp
They former Whyndam at DTD
The Grosevnor
BWI

Do any of you rent strollers at MK to avoid bringing them on the buses and do the buses come often?

We always take our own. We had no problem all last week with two strollers, three kids, myself, DH and a backpack. The bus for AKL was never full or too crowded. We could fold up the strollers and they fit under the seats of the bus so they were out of the way. We never had to wait very long for a bus. I was very impressed with the transportation. I had heard before leaving that it was "out in the middle of nowhere" or "not close to anything" but it was only a short 15 minute ride to MK! The best is that AKL doesn't share a bus with anyone so you don't have any stops.

Just a dumb question but on my end the family picture is really small and you can't make out any of the faces. Do you see a larger picture than I do? Just curious.

Thanks! Great to hear! One of our strollers is the car seat kind that turns into a stroller. Do you think I will be able to sit it onto the bus seat OK. It's like an actual car seat. My other option is my huge stroller! We will definitely be bring our Maclrean as one also.
