Hi Gang

We've stayed at the Contemporary, Swan and the Dolphin. We're used to seeing the fireworks from Epcot or MK every night. Can you see any nightly fireworks from AKL?

Thanks
Andy

I have stayed at AKL four or five times now and I don't remember ever seeing the fireworks from there. It is such a breathtaking resort I feel like I am in another park when I am there. princess:

Well, with us, we spend 99% of our time at the parks.

If this is the case then definately the moderate is the way to go, you will have the extra $$ and you won't be missing the extra amenities of the deluxe.

Yes I have stayed at the GF twice. I have stayed at ASMo and hated every min of it. The values arent just my thing. Then again it could be the fact that I was with my sister and her husband at the time and was literally feeling left out of the loop the entire time. I will give the values 1 more shot but not for a couple yrs. Next time we go down, which Im hoping in 2009 more then likely, we are gonna stay at the Poly. with no ?s asked. I wanted to stay there this yr but just cant afford it.

...I'm curious - have you ever stayed at a Deluxe before?? I ask because you sound like I did, just thinking of the room as 'a place to rest my head' before I'm out the door at break speed running commando-style to a park - that is, BEFORE I ever stayed at a Dlx, too! Believe me, one of the wonderful things about a deluxe IS spending a whole day exploring and enjoying everything that a deluxe has to offer. It sounds like you really want the most for your money - why don't you try Pop C instead?? Honestly, for the $$, I would personally like to stay at a VALUE, rather that a Mod, if budget is an issue....plus, although I absolutely LOVE the Pepper Market, the food court at Pop is 'killer'.....:thumbsup2 !

We were able to see two sets of fireworks from our balcony on our trip. I'm not sure where they were coming from. The first was off to our left a bit and started just after 9:30 so I'm assuming Illuminations and then a short while later there were more fireworks straight ahead and a bit to the right. I'm guessing they were from the Mickey's Christmas Party. I'm not sure. They seemed quite impressive though. Anyhow although we could probably only see the higher ones, it was neat standing on the balcony and watching two sets of fireworks at roughly the same time.

I heard fireworks from AKL in the summer time when we stayed, but I was too lazy to get up and see where it was coming from. Sounded pretty loud though.

Thanks for all the info gang:goodvibes We are looking forward to our 1st stay at AKL at the end of the month. We have been there to eat at Jiko before and fell in love with the atmosphere, so we decided this trip to give it a try. We are very excited  :dance3:

...EXCELLENT! Don't forget to eat plenty of ZD'S!!!!

Hi everyone. I'm sure this question must be answered somewhere else on this board (or even in this thread), but I've been searching around for a while now and haven't found the answer. Maybe someone here can help me.

Does anyone know if the rooms at the far ends of AKL (for example, rooms numbered X572 (X=floor #) or X541, or rooms in that general vicinity) are considered deluxe savannah views? Or are these just regular savannah-view rooms? And...are they non-smoking rooms?

We have a regular savannah-view room (non-smoking) booked for the end of January and I was kind of hoping we could stay at that end of the lodge, if a room's available. We always walk out there and view animals from the stairways when we stay at AKL, but it'd be so great to be in one of those rooms.

TIA for all info.
