We leave for AKL on Saturday for a short two night stay before our cruise. I have requested Arusha Savannah, but am considering changing it. I'm worried that I'll be over the big rock and not over the savannah. Plus, we had Uzima last time and liked it. Any thoughts? We like low floors, so maybe we could just request that.

I'd like to know also. Anyone with opinions on different savannah views ...?

We always stay on the Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail--great view with plenty of animals. The pool and restaurants are on this side of the AKL.

When my son returned to Germany from Iraq in September, the Army said that he could not return home until Jan. 5, 2007; they couldn't get the paperwork done until then. John's tour of duty was up in June. If he stayed in Germany until Jan. 5, they would pay him for any unused leave. At first they even refused to pay for his flight home.

Finally the Army changed their mind. John is flying into the Philadelphia Airport on Wednesday (about an hour's drive from Delaware). He is coming home for good.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Kathy

...what wonderful news! Truly something to be thankful THIS Thanksgiving!

...I wouldn't worry about it - the 'rock' isn't soooo big that you can't see the REST of the savannah.....I would specifically request Zebra Trail...

Good morning AKL lovers!

Morning everyone.

I have a quick question. We have booked the AKL for November next year in a standard room. We're thinking of upgrading but our tour operator only show standard or savannah rooms. How do you book concierge?

Concierge may be full for your dates, they need to call to double check. :)

Thanks Cass. I've called the tour operator and we can upgrade to a Savannah room but they do not have prices for concierge. Do you think we could do the upgrade direct through Disney or when we arrive if it's available?

...yes, you can DEFINITELY upgrade at check-in.....

Thanks kimmar. Need to start saving those pennies then :teeth:

I've been keeping up with your great trippie, can't wait to read the rest :thumbsup2

...yup.....depending upon availability, they may offer it to you at different prices.....perhaps, as little as $40/day, or even $100/day for concierge service.....I'd recommend doing it AT LEAST ONCE - and, AKL concierge is rated one of the BEST at WDW....[IMHO]

You could check online at www.disneyworld.com or call CRO to make sure that there is still availability left for your days, even if you can't switch to a concierge room now.

If it is chilly at night and we want to go into the jacuzzi can we get there fast from hotel. I know the one down to the left if I remember is close to hotel. (is there a door right by there?)

It is suppose to be in the 50's at night and we would like to still take advantage of it. Us old ladies need to soak after a day of fun!! :rotfl:

...well, it really depends upon what you are booked at NOW...if you have a std room booked for, let's say, $149/nite, chances are, are are NOT getting upgaded @ $40 smackeroos-a-day for concierge!
