I ended up changing our reservation to Jambo. It seems like the popular choice for most people. This is our first time at AKL and probably won't be our last, so we can try Kidani the next time. I only initially gravitated towards Kidani with the hopes of being on a lower floor, but since that's not guaranteed I might as well experience the main resort and the impressive lobby everyone raves about. I still plan to check out the Kidani splash pool for kids and also the Community Hall. Now we can begin our countdown!
