Jambo room request question

We will be staying in a one bedroom in Jambo this summer with our 2 year old. We know room requests "cannot be guaranteed" but are wondering if we should request a room near the lobby to be close to the store/bus stop/etc. or a room close to Kidani, because we plan on using the pool/playground there a lot. From looking at the map it looks like there is a section of Jambo that is closer to Kidani. We haven't stayed there since Kidani has been built, so any opinion anyone has would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't get too excited about staying close to Kidani. I've walked back and forth between the buildings a couple of times and the way the paths are designed, you basically have to walk "Lobby to Lobby". Having a room "close to Kidani" means a longer walk inside Jambo (there really aren't any external exits, you have to go through the Jambo lobby to exit the resort). Also, keep in mind that the Kidani pool is on the far side of the property, so walking a 2yr old is going to be a looong trip.

I had a savannah view studio in "Zebra Trail" last month and it was the furthest from the elevators and lobby. So if you want to be close, don't request there!

As far as getting a room that looks like it is closer to Kidani on the map because it is on the west side of Jambo facing Kidani does not accomplish anything. You can exit the Jambo building only at the front and thus regardless of where you are in Jambo, you still must go through the front entry-way at Jambo to get to Kidani.

Close to the lobby (a possible request) gets you close to front entrance, Jambo pool, store, and restaurants.

drusba is right, and in reality, nothing is really all that close to anything in a resort like AKL where the hallways are long and wrap around the savannas. The price for a good savanna view is a long hallway I guess.

FYI, you might not like the distance of Zebra trail from Kidani, but we had the BEST animal views from our unit there a year and a half ago.
