Woe, love wdw and have visited all many times along with other stays at multiple dvc resorts. Never been so disappointed with a room like the one I got today. Jambo 2br lock off. There are six of us including my 74 year old mom whose last visit was in 1972 with me and my brother and sister. I was really pumped up. I know we could've had dedicated at kidani but we love jambo atmosphere. I asked for the room on the pool side but that didn't happen. Although we have a partial Savannah view we really don't care about. Its quite dismal. The rooms carpet is crap, refrigerator scratched and dented, coffee on the wall bathroom door is filthy. You know I was psyched to bring my mom along and to show her how beautiful this place is and we got a bum room. Feeling very deflated. Rooms 2324 5234 and 5232. Horrible. Oh and now we have a swarm of hornets on our pillar on the deck. This is dismal

If they are really bad call the front desk manager and have him come to the rooms and look at the room if they are not fixable they will move you to another room and you can ask me move over to Kidani if they have availability

Actually - don't call the front desk. That goes to a call center. You would need to go to the front desk and ask for a manager. I'd also call housekeeping and ask for a supervisor to come up to your room to take a look at the issues.

Unfortunately AKV does have wasp problems but they will spray.

YIKES...NOT GOOD!

We stayed in Kidani a few summers ago, 2 BR dedicated and everything was pristine! Returning this Dec to Jambo on a split 2 night, Jambo and 2 Night VGF! Not GOOD news about this experience...HOPE that you find satisfaction!:thumbsup2

.....(snip).........We stayed in Kidani a few summers ago, 2 BR dedicated and everything was pristine! .......

We stayed in a Kidani dedicated 2 bedroom this past April and our villa was also pristine. My BIL was quite impressed - as was I. The villa was gorgeous!

Of all the resorts I think I've seen the least issues at AKV. It might partly be the darker decor makes it more difficult to tell some of the things but I don't think it's just that.

As stated, I agree the best approach is to physically go to the front desk. I'd go with pictures but would have no qualms insisting a manager go back with me to the room to see for themselves if needed. This is one of the differences I see between DVC and other top timeshares. I've had 2 fairly large issues in the past 4 months. One was over the 4th in Savannah where we came back to the room to find some major work being done in the room related to hanging TV's and the other only 3 weeks ago in Panama City where almost everything went wrong that could have. It took 40 min to check in with NO other guests at the desk during the entire time, they directed us to one bank of elevators saying it was working and the other wasn't and had it backwards (small item at most), and we had maybe 40-50 ants in our bed the day after check in. In both cases the GM for the resort itself took control and did everything reasonable to rectify the situation including coming to the villa and giving personal contact info including direct email and cell phone.
