Hi all, we are currently booked in a 1BR at Jambo house in February 2012. I am starting to question whether I should switch to Kidani because I LOVED the new layout of the rooms at BLT and I believe Kidani has the similar layout with 2 bathrooms. Can someone who has stayed at both tell me what they think? It will be my husband, me, and our 2 girls but we like to have some space to spread out and do spend time in the room since the 3 year old still needs naps. TIA!

We have stayed at both, and much prefer Kidani Village. The 1 bedroom that we had at JH just seemed much smaller than at KV. When we went to open up the sleeper chair at JH, I had to move it to face a different direction - or the sleeper sofa would have opened on top of it. At KV, you can open up the sleeper chair and sofa, without rearranging the chair. Also, we did not like the bathroom set up at JH. It is only one bathroom, and it is across the hall from the Master bedroom, and is all in one room. With our family of teen/preteen boys, that meant only one person could use the bathroom at a time. We much prefer the 1 bathroom set up at other DVC resorts, where there are 2 sinks, and 2 people can get ready at the same time in the mornings.

If you can switch to Kidani, that's what I would do. Go on a waitlist if you must!

Just tried Kidani, 1st week of Aug. after doing Jambo for many years and I'm absolutely a Kidani convert! I look forward to my next stay there. We were 6 in a 2 bedroom and the 3rd bathroom is a huge plus! The layout and lighter decor of Kidani had greater appeal for me than Jambo!

I think it's how important is the 2nd bathroom to you? We prefer Jambo as far as location (close to the restaurants and bigger gift shop), but you obviously forego the additional bath.

For our family of 3, if we 1BR (versus studio), we don't so much care about the extra bath and would go Jambo.

We did 8 in a 2BR at BWV and didn't have much of an issue with only 2 baths. 4 shared the studio (sister's family and two kids) and 4 the 1BR bath (my wife and my mom and dad).

Though, usually, I like a 1:3 toilet to person ratio :)

Kidani as it has a second bathroom and more square footage. Also, the pool at Kidani has a much better playarea for young children (especially the really young). Kidani has a much better Activity room which is available all day long with sofas, craft tables, games, TV's, scheduled daily craft, name the game system and they have it (wii, PS, xbox) which all were free. Jambo has activiites scheduled in Simbas Cubhouse (we did one: pottery) during the day but usually cost money and are designed more for older children or adults.

We stayed in the Rafffiki area and loved it. We were halfway between the elevator to the lobby and the elevator to the parking/pool on the third floor. Awesome room location. I have not stayed at Jamb, but we visited and explored the pool area and Kidani was by far the better (and an awesome pool party).

This will be our first stay also at Kidani in a 2 BR Savannah view. I am really not familiar enough with this resort so that I could "request" a location for our room. Any suggestions? We will have 3 young children with us.

My standard Kidani request is "lower floor, close to the lobby." Lower floor gets you closer to eye level with the animals.

Lower floor is definitely a better savannah view.
