Jambo house tips?

Just a warning, for kidani ,we have always asked close to lobby and in 8-10 trips there , never got anywhere close. Last trip we were one pod away from the end of the wing.

But of course , someone does get their request filled, but don’t count on it. If it happens great.

We regretted leaving BLT.

BLT has lots of walking too! We have had Jambo house request for nearer the lobby fulfilled so I guess we are one of the lucky ones LOL!

Agreed about walking at BLT. Actually, many of the resorts have a lot of walking, depending on room location! But Kidani and Jambo are laid out very differently. Kidani is definitely more spread out, while Jambo is a bit more centralized (although, you can find longer walks there, too). But as many have said, the dining options are absolutely amazing - the best resort dining on property, in our opinion. Jambo contains the amazing TS Jiko, the delicious buffet Boma, the best CS options with The Mara. Then you are a short walk or van ride to Kidani for Sanaa. You'll also have access to both pools on property. Enjoy the Jambo pool one day, and then find a completely different experience at the Kidani pool the next day!

Definitely check out the outdoor animal viewing areas, especially around the pools. Also, the main animal viewing areas off the main lobbies of each side of the resort are amazing, and usually offer the opportunity to speak with one of the on-site African cast members - most of whom love to talk about the animals and their home countries - usually very interesting and educational.

OP - hope you enjoy your trip. AKL, especially Jambo, is our favorite resort anywhere. Not just at WDW, but anywhere! So unique, peaceful, and beautiful.

If you want to be near the lobby at Kidani, request to be near either the Rafiki or Timon elevators, which are nearest and on each side of the lobby. Rafiki elevators are near the pool, and Timon elevators are near the bus stops.

Thanks! There's hope yet! Like a PP, I always requested "close to lobby", and got very far out. For my upcoming trip, I requested "near Timon elevator". Maybe now I'll finally be close to the lobby.

If you have time, try to have a meal at each of the restaurants there. Jiko is particularly wonderful.
And a drink at Victoria Falls Lounge… we had a pink martini (forgot the name) with a flower glow cube and I can’t recommend it enough- delicious!!
Definitely explore all the animal viewing areas and swim if it’s warm when you go.
There should be a list of resort activities near the check in area so see what sounds interesting while you are there.
