LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Jambo house even though it was a hike to the pool and the restaurant and the buses. But loved our first stay there. Now we're planning another trip in March 2012. Should we stay at Kidani or Jambo house?

any opinions?

Either one is great. I've stayed in both and love them both. It's funny, when I stay in Kidani I say "this is my favorite" then I stay in Jambo (just came back from a trip on Friday) and I said the same thing!

IT depends. Jambo house has all the stuff BUT kidani is MUCH quieter. I rather have the quietness over having everything there. At kidani i did not think the walk was that bad from kidani to jambo house. If your not in a rush you can take any bus from kidani to jambo house (except downtown disney).

So it all depends on what you want.

PS if you love humus and pita type bread you can go to the sanaa bar and get their bread service and beer without a reservation . MY wife and I did this a couple of times instead of lunch.

Jambo has better lobby, store, and three restaurants to Kidnai's one (although Sanaa is very good). Kidani pool is better one for kids because of special water play area and longer slide; Jambo, which is larger, for adults. You can get lower floor rooms at Kidani that give more direct sight view of animals preferred by many (but many others prefer the higher floor more panoramic view). Kidani has the best parking situation of all resorts if you have a car. Park busses stop at Kidani first and thus you avoid any standing room only issue during early rush hour.

In other words, each has its benefits and differences. My view: it depends on what size room you want. If you are stayinng in a studio I would stick with Jambo since Kidani's studios are about the same size. If you are staying in a 1BR or 2BR, Kidani wins by a large margin -- much larger space, extra bathroom, separate tub and shower in master bath (Jambo has combined tub/shower with a high wall to step over to get in).

Note, if you choose Kidani, recommend requesting "close to lobby." That long hike to the lobby, restaurants, etc. that you had at Jambo is like a mere hundred yard dash in comparison to the miles you have to go to get from the end rooms of the north wing of Kidani to the lobby (longest walk down an internal hallway in a hotel that exists anywhere in the world)

I like to stay at Jambo when I want to be in the middle of the action with the lobby, store, restaurants.
I like to stay at Kidani when I want to escape and relax. It was so quiet there. The parking is very convenient at Kidani.

In general, if I have a studio, I go to Jambo, and if larger, Kidani. The exception is when I really need a larger unit and need to save points. I have a value 2 bedroom and a value studio in September. Those value units have been very helpful when I have a Gal's Gathering!

I agree. The 1 bedrooms and up are larger at Kidani and have an extra bathroom. So there are 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom at Kidani, 3 in a 2 bedroom.

If you request near the lobby at Kidani does that still give you a (good) view of the savannah?

Getting close to lobby at Kidani gives you excellent view of savanna (assuming you have savanna view room) and, in fact, regardless of whether you are on the north or south wing, you will be fairly close to an animal feeding area.
