JAMBO Everybody...An August 2011 TR (Completed May 13)

Your down day looks like it was a lot of fun! Sometimes, it's so nice just to spend the day relaxing and messing around with loved ones. And everyone definitely looked like they were having fun in your pictures. Can't fake those smiles!:thumbsup2

Hope everyone has had a great weekend so far...we sure have! We are having amazing weather this winter (can we even call it that) and to wake up to a beautiful blue morning sky...well there is nothing better! Spent Friday with Peg and the girls as they had an inservice that day and it was wonderful! Except for the fact that their furnace wasn't working and we were all huddled together with our jackets and blankets on waiting for the furnaceman to arrive! Once again we thanking our lucky stars that it wasn't -40C!!! That would not have been fun!

On with the TR! This brings us to August 28 and what would we be doing on this glorious day......NOTHING!!!! POOL DAY!! I was so looking forward to this "down" day you have no idea! I love laying by the pool and watching the world go by....my bff asked if I had packed some books to read by the pool .... read....by the pool....I'm far too busy watching other people to concentrate on reading:lmao: Flipping thru a magazine is really the best that I can do...I only read on the plane:rolleyes1

We had a bit of a sleepin as our first order of the day was breakfast at 1045am. Where were we going you ask!!!
494-2.jpg

Only our favorite breakfast restaurant of all times! BOMA! Even when we didn't stay at AKL, we always managed to book a breakfast and a dinner here! Pressed Pot of coffee anyone:rolleyes1
495-1.jpg

We checked in and waited to be called! We were all surprised that it was still so busy considering the breakfast seating was almost over!
496.jpg

The beautiful staircase, but then again, what isn't gorgeous in this resort!
497-1.jpg

The rest of the family waiting to be seated...not really sure where Jas and Jeff were!
499.jpg

Peg, MM, and SW patiently waiting to get up and hit the buffet!
500-1.jpg

Jeff, Jasmine, me and Geodoc....we were more excited about the pressed pot of coffee and the juice right about now than we were eating!
501.jpg

My plate...and I was good, I only had one plate!
502-1.jpg

Jasmine's plate...she did good too, considering the majority of the time she eats like a bird! Between her and MM they couldn't get enough of the scrambled eggs with goat cheese and chives! I have to admit, they were beyond delicious! I think MM went back 3 or 4 times to get more!
503-1.jpg

Jeff's plate! How many plates did he have.....only 3!!! I know, right? Well apparently, he can eat 7 - 10 plates in the evening because he's worked up to that all day...but in the morning he has to pace himself....his words, not mine:rolleyes1
504.jpg

B-Day cupcakes for both the girls! When Jasmine was little it was her favorite thing when we would go on vacation....ice cream for breakfast, chocolate croissants. etc....hey, you're on vacation, it's the one time the mama's can break all the rules!
505-1.jpg

One we were finished our yummy breakfast we all headed back up to the suite to change to get ready for the pool. We were having a very special Dis-meet at the pool today! Hypermommy was coming for a visit. Now, we have been friends on the Dis for a few years now and when we went to the World in Jan/Feb 2010 we met for the first time at DTD! I saw her checking her phone so the kids and I just went and stood in front of her...she looked up and gave me the biggest hug! It was like we had known each other for years! We proceeded down to the Margarita Bar, got ourselves each a cocktail and grabbed a table by the water! Before we knew it 3 hours had passed and the poor woman had to work the next day! After she left, Jasmine's then bf Thomas said he would never have believed that was our first time meeting, he thought we were childhood friends! How wonderful was that! So you can see why both Peg and I were so excited to see her, Peg and family met her after their first cruise I believe, also at DTD!

Here we are in the pool....Hypermommy is beside me! Oh, I forgot to tell you something! I am going to brag about my friend here for a little bit....You see, over the past year my dear friend has changed her life with diet and exercise...she has lost an amazing 130 pounds in a year and is now training for a marathon! She is such an inspiration to me, I can't even tell you! She has shown me that through hard work and determination, anything is possible! Thank you again D!!
507-1.jpg

The other lady in the picture is her friend who came along for the visit!
508-1.jpg

After a lovely visit by the pool, Peg, HM, and her friend all headed to DTD for some shopping....we stayed by the pool! Here are 3 of the 4 kids taking a break, but god forbid we should actually get out of the pool!
510-2.jpg

Pool bar from where I was seated....see, everyday I got closer!
509-2.jpg

Another shot from my chair....see the kiddies?
511-1.jpg

Where the CM's ran the pool games everyday, she was playing some pretty great music, no need for an Ipod today!
513-1.jpg

MM and Jeff....they were like glue when they were in the water! Jeff was getting a little annoyed at Jasmine because she wanted to tan and he wanted to play in the water! MM said, it's ok Jeff, I'll stay in with you! Like she was doing him a big favour!
514-1.jpg

Drinks by the pool....one of my favorite pasttimes while here!
515-1.jpg

I love this shot...they were having so much fun!
516-1.jpg

It was finally time to head back up to the room to get ready for our evening out! Here are some of the souvenirs that I bought: Villians hoodie for moi, bracelet that Jasmine bought, notepad for the fridge, nemo keychain for a girl at work, polo for my dad and the Piglet pin for my bff's daughter Kayla!
517-1.jpg

Jeff relaxing on the balcony! He loved sitting out here while Jasmine and I would be getting ready!

Up next....Captain's Grille for dinner!

OHMIGOSH! I LOVE that sweatshirt! The evil queen is my favorite! Where did you get it????

It sure was! There is nothing like a relaxing day at the resort with family and friends...:goodvibes

OHMIGOSH! I LOVE that sweatshirt! The evil queen is my favorite! Where did you get it????

I first saw it at World of Disney at DTD at the beginning of our trip but I bought it at The Emporium in the MK before we went to the Wishes Dessert party....I believe it was $60..not positive on that but pretty close!

I am trying Boma breakfast in June. I can't wait.

And I love the pics of the AKL pool. I feel at home as soon as I see those pics. So tropical and relaxing!

Sounds like you guys had a very nice "down day". Great pics as usual, really makes me wish I was sitting next to a pool right now ;)

There really is nothing like relaxing by the pool and spending a day just doing not much of anything. I wish I did that more often, but normally we only stay for a week or less, so we typically don't make much time. AKL has a great pool though, so I could imagine it was tons of fun.

Great update, Queen. We agree with you....Boma is hard to beat (although CP holds a tie with it for our favorite breakfast).

Love the pool pictures; MM and Jeff sure get along great! And I'm with you, nothing better than a cocktail and people watching at the pool.

We are having amazing weather this winter (can we even call it that) and to wake up to a beautiful blue morning sky...well there is nothing better!

Aren't we though? And that sunny morning after all that fog was terrific. We spent Saturday night at adrenaline adventures with DDs and some of their friends. We got there about 6:30pm and they never stopped until we physically pulled them away at 9:30pm. Outside the whole time and nobody got cold.

Gas furnace? I hope they called Hydro and not a repair company. Found that out a few years ago. If your gas furnace isn't working, Hydro will come out for free to take a look. Ours was the pilot light woudn't stay lit. Hydro came out, found the problem, fixed it by replacing the part... all no charge.

On with the TR! This brings us to August 28 and what would we be doing on this glorious day......NOTHING!!!! POOL DAY!!

Love those... but just can't do 'em! We don't go enough and for long enough to do that.

We had a bit of a sleepin as our first order of the day was breakfast at 1045am.

Sleep in? What's that? :confused3

Only our favorite breakfast restaurant of all times! BOMA!

I never knew that Boma was good for brekkie! We went for dinner and I tried a lot of different dishes. DW and DDs all had mac 'n cheese.

Another shot from my chair....see the kiddies?

Yup. Where's Waldo?

513-1.jpg

MM and Jeff....they were like glue when they were in the water! Jeff was getting a little annoyed at Jasmine because she wanted to tan and he wanted to play in the water! MM said, it's ok Jeff, I'll stay in with you! Like she was doing him a big favour!

Aww. That's a cute picture. :)

Drinks by the pool....one of my favorite pasttimes while here!

Now if they can just get Grey Goose Slushies over there, you'd be all set.

515-1.jpg

I love this shot...they were having so much fun!

That's a great shot! :thumbsup2

Up next....Captain's Grille for dinner!

Thanks for the chapter! Looking forward to the next one. :goodvibes

Breakfast sounds delicious there!! :goodvibes

I love a good DISmeet. I am glad to hear you had fun!!
I am having such a hard time losing weight, I love hearing someones success with it, that is such a great accomplishment!!

I LOVE the picture of Jeff holding MM up in the pool...they both look like they are having so much fun!! :goodvibes

Boma's for breakfast is wonderful! We had such a good time there.
The bacon on your plate is making me hungry.
Lexi says this is her favorite bkfst. :thumbsup2
Couldn't agree more:thumbsup2 Hi Lexi!!!!
Ahhhh...I love the lounging around the pool pics! Everyone is enjoying the pool time.
Jeff is so good with MM.
He loves kids! He is going to make an amazing teacher!
Congrats HyperMommy! That is amazing!
I failed at my attempts to loose weight last year so this year I am back to trying again.
I can only hope to be as successful as her. Outstanding!
You and me both sista!!! I was doing so well before my mother passed away and then I gained 10 pounds back, but I started back to the gym in December 4 - 5 times a week for an hour each time and I am happy to say the weight is coming off! I would love to loose 20 before our trip and KEEP it off!! Let's keep each other on track:thumbsup2
Oh, I can't wait for the Captain's Grille review. That place has been on my list so many times.

I messed up....we're going to Cape May, Captain's Grille is later in the trip:rolleyes1sorry!

You are going to love it!

It's like being on a tropical island IMO....I think next summer (2013) when we are back there, Peg and I decided we're going to have more of those days!

Sounds like you guys had a very nice "down day". Great pics as usual, really makes me wish I was sitting next to a pool right now ;)

You and me both, even tho we've had an amazing winter, it's not as warm as Florida:lmao:

There really is nothing like relaxing by the pool and spending a day just doing not much of anything. I wish I did that more often, but normally we only stay for a week or less, so we typically don't make much time. AKL has a great pool though, so I could imagine it was tons of fun.

If we are there for a week, we don't do pool time either, there just isn't the time! I have to get all my parks in after all:cool1:
Great update, Queen. We agree with you....Boma is hard to beat (although CP holds a tie with it for our favorite breakfast).
Peg and I were talking about CP for breakfast for our 2013 trip....they've been and loved it but Jasmine and I have only been for dinner!
Love the pool pictures; MM and Jeff sure get along great! And I'm with you, nothing better than a cocktail and people watching at the pool.
They sure do! There are times when we are around the pool and I want a second pina colada that I wish it were all inclusive:rotfl2:

It really was the perfect evening to go there....Jeff and his buddies love it there!

Think so but not sure! That is a great tip tho, thanks:goodvibes I know it was furnaceman that came to Peg's!

Love those... but just can't do 'em! We don't go enough and for long enough to do that.

I hear ya, when we go for a week we never take the time to use the pools! In '98 it's all Jasmine talked about was getting back to the resort to swim and I think we only went one evening! You know how the pool is the biggest draw when they're 6:rolleyes1

Sleep in? What's that? :confused3

Not something I'm familiar with either really. I am usually up between 5 and 6 but I knew they would kill me so I just waited!:rolleyes1

I never knew that Boma was good for brekkie! We went for dinner and I tried a lot of different dishes. DW and DDs all had mac 'n cheese.

I honestly have to say that if we weren't staying there I wouldn't have made the trek by bus in the mornings, it would have taken away too much of our day! But just coming downstairs for it was perfect! Sounds like our crew when we're there, Peg, Jeff and I are the only adventurous eaters!

Yup. Where's Waldo?

:lmao:

Aww. That's a cute picture. :)

Isn't it tho:cutie:

Now if they can just get Grey Goose Slushies over there, you'd be all set.

I would never leave:woohoo:

That's a great shot! :thumbsup2

One of my fav's

I think it's one of the hardest things to do and if someone has never been challenged by it they just don't get it! It's a constant battle with me but I am more determinded than ever! I don't mind going to the gym for weight days, but when it comes to cardio, I would much rather be outside! Can't wait for that!

Isn't it great, it really captured the mood, they were laughing so hard!

Though it seems Ive become more of a lurker (sad!) I still make sure to follow along and always read your TRs first. Then when im finished with the rest, I come back and check for an update again just to make sure I didnt miss one ;)

Ill shake the cobwebs off soon, but wanted you & Jasmine to know im still thinking of you and reading right along!

I am so happy that you're still following along...that makes me so happy:hug: I know what a busy girl you are and the fact that you take time to follow us....:cloud9:

Lots of hugs back XO

I couldn't think of a better way for a little girl to spend her 7th birthday....I still can't believe the baby of the family is 7:rolleyes1

You are gonna love staying there!! Did I post our room number? If you want it let me know and they you can request it...our view was awesome and even moreso we were super close to the elevators! That's always a plus after a long day in the parks!

We are beyond excited!

I believe you posted your room number in the beginning of the report. I will have to go check! :) If I don't see it, I'll shoot you a PM! I am definitely going to put that on our requests! Thanks :goodvibes

Sounds like a great day!

I believe every Disney trip should have one relax day! It is always nice to sit by the pool and just enjoy being there for a while :cloud9:

Boma looks soo good!

Yay for pool drinks!

Such a cute pic of MM and Jeff! I am so glad he enjoyed Disney!

It was such a good day! We really lucked in this year with the rain...there were hardly any afternoons that we didn't get our pool time:thumbsup2

You will be able to enjoy some pool drinks this year!! I love that picture too and yes, we are all thrilled that he loved Disney as much as he did! Peg was telling me that when they were in Turks and Caicos the girls kept saying that Jeff would love it there because it was all inclusive and there were 16 restaurants AND the legal drinking age is 18 there:thumbsup2 They are so funny....they said about the restaurants, Peg and Geodoc mentioned the drinking age:rotfl2:
