Anyone there now or just back that can say what the situation is on refillable mugs at Jambo? Is there a place to refill them or do you have to go to Kidani? Thinking about them for our trip for am coffee/ afternoon tea or soda.

Add us in for November 28 - December 1; we have two savannah view studios at AKL Kidani! It’s the first half of our split stay trip (second half is at SSR). Last November we stayed at Jambo for a couple of nights and loved it, but we couldn’t get two suites there for our dates this time. We are excited to stay at Kidani, though! We are planning lots of balcony time and pool time.

I’m really hoping Jiko will be open by then… but happy that we also have The Mara as a choice too!

I am the same as you, hope Jiko is open. We have a Grand Villa for the week after you, so we will make the most of it regardless.

It's our first time at AKL, so we decided to try out both locations (plus a studio wasn't available for all three nights ) Every WDW trip I have ever taken has been a split stay, so this counts too, right?

I believe they are lettting you refill at The Mara, but it’s only open for breakfast and dinner. The food situation is not to be underestimated. Here now and it has been a bummer.

That's the thing I'm most concerned about- food options. We would do OK with the mug if we could refill am coffee and then midday- maybe the pool bar? Is that an option? Meals we usually do in park, so I'm slightly less concerned there. Thanks for the update- and hope you're enjoying everything else about your stay!

The gift shop in Jambo House has not re-opened, but the gift shop in Kidani Village is open. I assume they have milk, but I haven't been there since the Pandemic started.

Because Kidani is full and Jambo has to steer guests to Kidnani for gift shop items, I noticed a lot of items were sold out at at the gift shop at Kidani. They typically do have milk but whether it's in stock is another story.

Because Kidani is full and Jambo has to steer guests to Kidnani for gift shop items, I noticed a lot of items were sold out at at the gift shop at Kidani. They typically do have milk but whether it's in stock is another story.

I’ve been at Jambo twice post-Covid and will be back in July. Got Instacart orders... even with just a few items, it’s dead easy. Unless you have liquor, order can be left at Bell Services so you don’t need to coordinate a meeting.

The Kidani shop is very small so the selection is minimal. If you don’t see something in the case, you can certainly ask if they have stock in back. My advice, though, is save yourself the aggravation and plan a grocery order... even a small one can be a lifesaver at Jambo right now.

Working with a DVC member who is doing his best to get one of our two rooms reserved all at Kidani, as it stands right now we for sure have a standard studio and most of the stay for my daughter's group Savannah view at Kidani 9/20-9/25! I have one question... happy childhood memory for her was getting resort mugs (we were usually ASM people) and getting hot chocolate or some other drink at the end of the day on our way back to the room. Where at Kidani can you do that? Should we plan on hiking over to the Mara daily?

Thanks to advice from this thread, we got a great room location at Kidani last week Savannah studio- requested Sunset Savannah, lower floor, near the Timon elevator. We were placed 3rd floor at the first room from the elevator on our hall. Room 7300. Great location, very close to the lobby. Several giraffe feeding areas were directly in front of us so we had perfect views of them in the evenings.

I wasn’t sure what was going on at the time, but thinking back, I think they were filling mugs at the gift shop in Kidani? People were getting fountain drinks poured and not paying. I assumed it was a DVC perk but maybe it was mugs.
