We are headed to Jambo 3/4-3/10! So curious to see the place empty!

Funny story-

we have a reservation at Jambi in a few weeks. I just called to make a room request

I asked, “I would like an Arusha savanah view”.

CS says “you already have a savanah view room”.

then we go back and forth for a while.
finally, I just asked for those exact words to be put down, but she still did not understand what i wanted

I cannot speak to what might be available at Kidani. At Jambo there were some poolside activities like trivia and that was it. No movies and they are not turning on the fire pit.

Easiest way to put in a room request is online. Sign into your membership, click on help & contact, click on email us. Then you have down in writing what you want, not what the person on the phone interprets. I had a value studio reservation some years ago, and called in and asked for giraffe trail. The person said near the area overlooking giraffes. I said no, that is the name of the hallway. He didn't understand, had not been there, and did not have a map of where the rooms are to understand. That is when I learned to follow someone's advice here on the DIS, and put in requests online. That still does not mean you will get your request, but at least it is written down what you want, not what someone else thinks you want who completely does not understand and may have never been there or looked at a resort map.

We'll be at Jambo June 25-July 1. It looks like the restaurants will still be closed since the hotel won't be open yet but I'm looking forward to the quiet. I am hoping Mara will be open though. Fingers crossed!

I was there 2 weeks ago and the kidani splash zone was closed for refurb. Not sure timeline when reopens so can’t speak of status as of today.

It was being refurbed when we were there 6 months ago, does anyone know if it opened and then shut back down again? Or is this a really long closure (in which it probably won’t open again soon)
