Resort Thread Jambo! Disney's ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE

Quick question: My parents will be onsite guests (at an All Stars resort) but having dinner at Boma. We need to pick them up from their dinner, but we are not onsite guests. Do we just tell the guard when we enter that we are there to pick someone up from dinner? We won't have to pay to park, will we? (They will get to dinner using a bus from the park they visit that day, we just need to pick them up afterward.)

Jambo House refers to the main Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Kidani Village is the DVC property. Some DVC studios are located in Jambo House (AKL), which is why you'll see that sometimes. Like, someone might say, "We rented points for our honeymoon and booked a studio at Jambo House!" or "My parents are no longer coming with us, so we switched from a one bedroom at Kidani to a studio at Jambo House", to differentiate between the two properties.

From all the maps and info I've examined, standard view rooms can be found throughout the Lodge on all different trails. You can use the room view finder tool on Touring Plans for free to get an idea of where you might end up.

We've had local family pick us up for dinner from our resort before and they just had to give the guard our name.

We have a trip booked for June 12-21 and I am so excited that today I was able to switch from WL to AKL Jambo!!! I am slowly working my way through this thread but I have a question.
I booked a deluxe studio Savannah view. But as I read through here I am wondering if a standard savannah view would have been better rather than a villa? If I am understanding correctly the deluxe studios are on the 5th floor? How does this effect animal viewing?
I am traveling with my 13 yr old daughter, 30 yr old son and my granddaughter that will turn 5 right before we leave. The trip is to celebrate her birthday and she is going to be so surprised we are staying at AKL!

Has anyone used Room Service in the morning for breakfast? What options were available? How close to your expected delivery time did the food actually arrive? Is there an extra fee?

To place an order, press "Dining Options" on your in-room phone. An 18% gratuity, $3.00 delivery charge and 6.5% sales tax will apply to all delivery orders. A minimum order may apply"

I would imagine it would be better value to either pay off plan or just send someone down to The Mara to bring breakfast back up with them. Think of the lovely dinner you could have at Yachtsman Steakhouse or California Grill for the same credits

I'm doing a solo trip, so I was wanting to splurge on breakfast in the morning. Not doing the dining plan. I had to drop it to get a room at AKL, when my CBR ressies conflicted with construction plans there.

Does anyone have a picture of the room service menu?

I'd love to see one also.

i have the menu from december , its in my files i will look for it tommorow and post it, all the room service we had was awesome, the salads and the ny strip were amazing
