I am not sure which to book. We are going next August during value season on points. I would like a 1 bedroom. View is not a criteriea so we are not looking for SV or C Level. Staying in Jambo House is. We are 2 adults and a 14 year old. My question: Does the value 1 bedroom give ample space for 3 or should we use the extra points for the standard room? I like the idea of the value room and staying an extra night or two as long as it is spacious enough.

Do you own at AKV or will you be booking at 7 months? If you own there, book that value one bedroom now because it will be gone quickly (there are only a few). If you don't own there, plan on the standard villa at 7 months out.

For three people it probably won't make much of a difference, but the room is smaller than the standard and savanna room. I've read here that guests in the value one bedroom have difficulty closing the bedroom door because of tight quarters in the bedroom.

We are 2 adults and 1 child (2.5 y/o), just back from a value 1 br. We found it to be plenty of room. Had no problem closing doors. Our unit had a smallish round dining table on the balcony side of the living room with 4 chairs, instead of the rectangular table with banquette/bench seating near the kitchen. We put DD there to eat dinner while we sat on the sofa and ate on the coffee table. Worked great for us, but we didn't eat in the villa much. The bathroom was enormous! The bedroom had space enough on either side of the bed for a nightstand, but that was it.

I actually did a video walkthrough of the value 1br we stayed in, as well as one of the adjoining value studio my parents were in that I will try to get up on the resorts forum soon :goodvibes

Hi - can I just ask what type of tub you had in the 1 bed value please?

We have so far only stayed in a Kidani 1 bed and absolutely LOVED the huge bath there which I could lounge in!!:cloud9:

Look forward to seeing your video!!:thumbsup2

Our home is AKV so we can book at 11 months out. I need to decide on which room because I plan to call soon. I am wondering, if there is not much room to close the bedroom door, then have others had difficulty opening the door too? I don't mind small quarters (we stay in studios with no problem) but the reason for taking a 1 bedroom, in part, is for privacy, in part for the kitchen. (we are not taking the ddp so we plan to have a few small meals in room).

Thanks for the info :)

Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear the door was not a problem. I wonder if the value 1 bedroom is worth the extra points or if I should just go with the studio. We were planning a few easy meals in room like grilled cheese, nothing big, but we do like having the larger fridge and oven. Decisions, decisions!

Our 1br had a big (by our standards, lol) jetted tub, but my parents' studio had a normal tub. Our jetted tub was part of a tub/shower combo, no separate glass shower.

Videos are up inn the resorts forum :thumbsup2

The value studio was super nice, but our 1br just felt extra luxurious. I would go with the 1br, if you can swing it.

Thanks, I think that is what we have decided to do. We get a bit more room than the studio plus the full kitchen/laundry AND, a little more time at the world. We only go 1x a year and take an extended vacation to save on the plane fare. We prefer not to drive. You have been very helpful.:dance3:

If you are staying in Jambo house in a 1 bedroom then there is are really only two (real) considerations in regards to the "value-vs-standard":

1) Do you need the room for a 5th person?

2) Do you care about the possibility of an ever-so-slight chance of getting a "parking lot view"?

If you answered "no" to both of those questions, then Value is the right choice for you!

The differences between Value and Standard rooms are:

Value:
--Value rooms are defined by their SIZE... NOT their view. Value rooms are 3 feet "shorter" than a normal sized 1-bedroom villa at Jambo house.
--Value rooms have a 45% chance of being a savannah view, 45% chance of being a pool view, and a 10% chance of being a parking lot view.
--Value rooms don't have the sleeper chair...hence why they can only sleep 4 and not 5
--When I stayed in a value sized room, honestly the extra 3 feet was not missed. All it seemed to do was spread out the furniture in the room. Otherwise, they were practically identical.

Standard:
-- All standard rooms at Jambo have a view of the pool.

Not the best pics, but they give you some idea. I think you will be fine with the value. We loved it.:goodvibes
