Jamba House Vs Kidani? Help

I am sure there are post about this and I have read the comparisons on other posts. But wanna get some opinions with our family in mind. We will be going in September when we go. We want a 1 bedroom Vila over looking the Savanna. Our family will be Myself, Husband, Son 4 and Daughter 7 if we do indeed go next September. Gotta work on the husband still for this trip! Things to consider for us.

We will be renting a car so wont be using Disney transportation
We would like the best views we could get of animals
Don't mind walking some to get places but after a lot of park walking not sure we'd wanna walk to much more.
But wont be eating probably to much at our resort, maybe one nice dinner, other wise we'd prob order room service if eating at hotel.

Does it make much difference which resort we are at? I have heard the pool is better for kids at Kidani and we would probably do two hotel days where we stayed around resort and spent time in pools.

Based on your specifics, you can flip a coin.
-Disney transport doesn't matter.
-Each hotel has areas with great views of the Animals.
-Kidani has the better pool/kids features
-Jambo is a shorter walk.
-Each have a good sit down dinner place.

You can't go wrong with either.

That's what is making it tough. I read the views from Kidani are way better and you see more animals. If that is case plus kids pool I think it would be better to stay there but than again the walking. Do you now if there is decent amount of parking at that building where we would actually be able to park our car near Kidani building. That would make a difference. It would suck to have to park way far away and have to walk far to our car everyday.

you can park your car under the building - but one reason why the animals are better is the walking - Kidani is longer so more animal views. It also has some animals not at Jambo House.

My family prefers Jambo because the quick service and 2 other restaurants are in that side. We have always had beautiful views of the animals as well. We are staying there again Aug 30th! I prefer not to walk from Kidani or wait for a bus just to get to the main building every time. The pool at Kidani offers limited menu items and my kids prefer the menu at Mara.

We were in a 2bdrm dvc villa Savannah in Kidani in Aug '12 and it was amazing! Great views, wonderful pool, fab room. Having a kitchen is always nice. We rented dvc points and 5 nights was a little over $1100. I would say the only drawback could be the amount of walking with small kids. Kidani is very spread out and that might be hard for your little ones. We rented a car and parked right under the resort. The pool is beautiful and lots to do. Jambo pool is bigger and there seemed to be more happening at Jambo - bigger lobby and more people. Either one is so lovely I'm sure your family will have a wonderful time!

Good to know! I'm thinking we will do Kidani I think we can handle the walking and worse case we can get on the shuttle if need be!

Are you doing your ressie with Disney or renting/using DVC points?

I was able to request it on the early check in form. But they won't guarantee that you will get your request. Also, if you have kids, the halls at kidani are VERY long. You might want to request closer to the lobby.

I'm not sure about this because we do DVC, but if you do early check in the form will have options.
