We are looking into our next vacation. I'm not happy unless I have two or three being planned at once!:) Anyway, we have always thought about doing one of the all inclusives in Jamaica. Has anyone been to one? If so, which one and what was your experience like? They sound like fun in the travel books, but it's always nice to get firsthand knowledge from people you "know." Well, at least I feel like I know many of you.:)

Thanks for any info you can provide!

DW and I stayed at Sandals and loved it. You stay at one Sandals, you can go to all of them on a free, private shuttle. Excellent food and drink, fun entertainment, beautiful surronding, and romantic. Some of the all inclusives are a little on the wild side (ie Hedonism), so check them out. Make sure you take a tour of Dunns River Falls! I would not wander around Jamaica unescorted. Even on our private beach, we had people on waverunners try to sell us drugs. Armed security was right on it.

I appreciate the comment about walking the beach. I was reading a travel book this morning that made it sound like you could walk up and down the beach to stop into restaurants and bars. Which Sandals did you stay at?

I got married last year at Sandals Royal Caribbean. This was a second marriage for both of us and we felt very comfortable with the different age groups we saw there. The food was good, the entertainment fun and the weather hot and beautiful.

There are two other Sandals in the Montego Bay area and you can use the other two to eat at their restaurants and use their facilities. We didn't do this, but have heard since then it's a must do.

We also took a bamboo raft ride down the Martha Brae River the day after we got married. This was one of the highlights of our trip and I still just melt when I think about it.

We went to Ciboney about 10 years ago. It was very nice.

My neighbors went to some FDR resort, and a nanny to watch the kids came with their room.

We honeymooned at Sandals Royal Caribbean in 7/92. We also did a week at Sandals Montego Bay in 4/99. Not in Jamaica, but we also did a week at Sandals Halcion Beach in St. Lucia 7/97. All 3 trips were excellent. Good food, great service, beautiful properties, plenty of activities. As mentioned, you can travel between the Sandals for meals. We did that when we were at Montego Bay - had dinner back at Royal where we had honeymooned.

You will not be sorry with a Sandals vacation. Its a great way to go.

We went to Sandals Negril in 2001 and 2003 and we absolutely loved it.

We'll be going to Sandals Whitehouse next year. It's on the south shore of Jamaica. As much as we love Negril, we're trying it out because we got a 50% off promotion. Check out their website at www.sandals.com

We got married at Beaches Turks and Caicos in 1998. The beach and water there are the most beautiful I have ever seen anywhere in the Caribbean. Their website is www.beaches.com

They are both the same company, but Sandals is for adults only, Beaches is for families.

My wife and I love Couples resorts. They are less expensive than most Sandals and include more tours for the price. We have been to Couples Ocho Rios 4 times (in fact we just visited there in June). We plan to return for our 10th aniversary in January 2006.

Here is a link to their web site: www.couples.com

We stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean. It was about 13years ago but was very nice. One thing to consider, if I remember correctly, is that Sandals Inn Montego Bay is located quite close to the end of the airport runway and the planes will be flying quite low.

My DH and I stayed at Sandal's Nigril in April 1999 for our honeymoon. The room was great, the food excellent, and the service outstanding. We did Dunn's River Falls, a shopping trip into Nigril, and a "booze cruise" which was alot of fun. There was a few times that the locals tried to sell us MaryJane:crazy: , but all you have to do is say "No thank you" and they let you alone. Hedonism is right next door and one time they marched over to Sandals in single file wearing only the smile on their faces. It was a great vacation and I would definately do it again!!!
