Jam-bo or Jahm-bo?

My wife said "Jam-bo" on our last trip. I said it was "Jahm-bo". Then, just to get under her skin, I started saying "Ka-danny village".

I blame Clark Gable for the Jam - bo pronunciation as in his movie Mogambo he always said it this way when greeting people.

So it looks like my wife, Clark Gable and two DISers pronounce it Jam-bo. I'm glad she has good company to keep.

Jahm-bo....however my husband calls it jumbo. Can't get him to say it right for the life of me! Ugh!

My DH still calls AK "The Lion Kingdom".
